Akira let out a yawn as he flipped through the pages of Das Kapital. Akira was a grad student for Anthropology at the University and he worked part time at a library to help pay for his many addictions of anime, coffee and socialist literature; recently though, he hadn't had time for any of that as he had discovered something far more exciting.
It was the waning hours of the evening as night neared...the libary basically already closed but not really, no one ever really showed up during this time of night to study or check out books. It was Kataware-doki now, the fragment time as it was known in Japan...the time between the sun fully setting over the horizon and the coming of night. It was a mesmerizing and beautiful time...but here he was, stuck looking at it from through a window.
He marked his page with a bookmark as he pushed up his glasses; he looked for his partner, or maybe fellow conspirator would be a better term for it. She should have finished wrapping up by now. He was eager to get on with it....but he calmed himself as he took a sip of his coffee and waited, admiring the beauty of Kataware-doki as best he could from his seat at the circulation desk.
