They had traveled together for a really long time. They'd both grown and changed over time. After defeating Naraku and Kikyo's death things had really changed. It seems her relationship with Inuyasha was finally able to move forward. Although those three years away from him really made her long for her long lost Hanyo.
She decided to stay with him leaving her time behind or more appropriate her future. Kaede offered a small home within their village to her and she offered for Inuyasha to stay with her. Besides the kiss they shared and admitted they wanted to stay together the relationship hadn't really moved yet. She wanted it to go forward but she was so shy.
Over a few months of being back she became less and less shy. They'd spent many nights together but now she had a plan. She was going to invite him to lie in bed with her. Although she was worried about him smelling her arousal. She knew his nose could pick up on those smells and maybe he was pretending to not notice for her sake. Either way she wanted him.
Making a nice stew she invited him over that night and wore her slim yukata. She left her hair down and actually used a gentle red tint of lip shade on her lips as she waited.
