Quinn hadn't even known about this distant Uncle. When the letter arrived he thought it might have been a prank to begin with, he had almost ignored it entirely, but curiosity had gotten the better of him and he had called up the law agency on the letter. It was only then that he started to realise they were serious, that this complete stranger really was Quinn's uncle, and that as the last remaining member of the family Quinn was the one to inherit his uncle's estate, or what estate there was. From what he had gathered his Uncle had owned a farm, but it wasn't well known and had fallen into something of disrepair in recent years, having very little livestock left. Quinn's first thought had been to perhaps just sell the place without even seeing it, but then perhaps it was fate that intervened. Quinn had never liked his job, it was dull, menial, a complete dead end and barely paid enough to survive, and then he had gone and been fired in order to make room for the son of one of the managers. Well, what better time to make a clean break and a fresh start right?
The trip to the farm had drained what little amount of savings Quinn had, several trains and buses to a part of the country he'd never even heard of let alone been to. And with every subsequent bus and train there were fewer and fewer people, until finally he'd found himself in a little taxi driving out to the middle of nowhere, being dropped off outside a gate, the taxi driving away and leaving Quinn and his backpack standing and wondering if this really had been such a good idea. "Well...I'm here now..." Quinn took a deep breath, opening the gate and heading onto the large farm estate, though it seemed eerily quiet. He could make out what appeared to be the farmhouse at the far end of the path, so he made that his first destination, heading towards it with the keys from the law firm in hand. "Well, guess we'll see how I can handle being a farmer....when I find out just what kind of farm this is. I don't see any crops or animals anywhere...." He sighed softly, this was probably going to be more difficult than he thought.
