My name is Yariko, an elf from the forest tribes. For much of my life, I grew up in the peaceful air of my fellow elvish people. Growing up in the forest, I was trained in many skills of combat, including swordplay and archery. As I grew into adulthood, I had dreams of being a famous ranger. It was fortuitous that the Adventurer's Guild by my village would have a job for a fresh faced adventurer like myself. A sorceress in a ways off tower was requesting herbs for experimental potions. The details of this quest seemed a little too vague, as much of the tower's locations was not explained. A small delivery did nothing to frighten me, as I claimed the vial of herbs from the Guild Master to take part in this quest. The map the Guild Master had offered gave me some semblance of direction towards the tower, but it seemed the map just ended near the town at the end of the path.
A cool spring breeze blew across the dirt road, brushing my bright red bangs across my face. It was rather chilly on that dirt road, part of me wishing I had a cloak to keep me warm on this quest. Along my person, I had my trusty bow and quiver slung across my back. A bright red tunic covered my body, with brown short shorts along my waist. My red hair was done was tied up in a nice pony tail to keep my face clear of stray hairs. A good short sword was tied at my waist, for when things would grow hairy, and a few throwing knives hung at the ready on my thigh. The satchel at my hip held many tools for my travels, including the herbs I was meant to deliver. Curious how a sorceress would need such simple looking plants for her discoveries, though it wasn't really my job to judge.
My bright blue eyes surveyed the dirt road I traveled, taking a moment to glance at the map I was given. A town was drawing closer, as I walked down the road. Looking toward the buildings in the distance, not a single mage's tower was in view. I had to double take my map to make sure it wasn't lying to me. "That old bastard gave me a bogus map. The least he could do was point me in a good direction at this point...was probably spending too much time staring at my chest." I muttered to myself, placing the map back in my satchel.
"Guess I'll have to ask around town for direction. Just hope they don't ask for a name for this sorceress...dumbass Guild Master." I continued angry, walking closer to the town in front of me. As I looked along the dirt path I walked, I couldn't help but notice the road was kind of empty. Not a single person was walking the trail to town. It was pretty close to the Adventurer's Guild, you'd think some travelers would be visit the tavern in a place this close. I kept wondering to myself, thinking on an explanation for this eerie absence. Their were rumors that women went missing near this part of the countryside. No one really said what happened to this girls or who was taking them. I'll just need to keep my sword at the ready for any creeps in the area....I just hope I can find this tower quickly. As I hit the entrance of the town, I took the time to survey around for locals to ask for directions.
