It began with a squeal of brakes and a crash of metal as the security van mounted the kerb and crashed in a wall. The two drivers were dead on impact, one at the wheel, the other spread over the front of the vehicle, now mercifully unaware of the broken container that they had been carrying. Their rest was only temporary.
They had no idea what they were carrying, just more used up chemicals from the laboratory just outside of town. It didn't matter what they were, it was just a job to the drivers, taking the compounds from one place to the next. Some days it was just boxes, others bottles. Today, it was a sealed metal unit with labels over it marked 'Danger: Toxic Compound - Do Not Inhale'.
Within minutes blue lights filled the morning sky, reflected in the eyes of the corpses draped over the van. The responders declared them dead at the scene but none of them were prepared for when the dead drivers sat up again and attacked. One bite, two bites, soon twenty. Within an hour, the accident had become an epidemic, the city rapidly filling up with shambling, angry corpses. Some still looked like dead humans, others were... less so. They liked to bite anyone living they found but there were already reports of women being dragged away by the ravenous undead for purposes unknown.
Alas, news did not spread fast enough and as the zombie horde closes in on a nearby school, not one of the students living within the halls has a clue about what it about to befall them...
