You've been captured, taken by the Drow far from home and far from the sun, you fear both are gone from your life forever. The Drow you have been taken by is a surprisingly young woman for her race who seems to have a penchant for "games and stories" as she puts it. The games are what you've been brought for, a series of challenges and your supposed freedom at the conclusion, assuming you survive of course.

I'm looking to run or to be a player in an idea based around the above, realistically I'm doubtful about my chances of finding someone else to run it so be warned that I might be a bit slow on the pacing, but I think it's a fun idea!

Basically I'm looking for a sort of gladiatorial arena/theatre type setup but where it's not just fighting, the idea would be a sort of collection of different things, the drow woman seems to have unbelievable power and can set up scenario's that seem very unlikely, winning and playing along earns equipment, better lodgings and "prizes". I'm looking for a smaller group maybe 4 max, most races will be accepted I'd even consider homebrewing races to be played. The rules will be kind of fast and loose I'm more concerned with having good back and forth and story than I am getting every rule 100% correct.

Basically the drow woman is kind of Meta, running you as characters as her own version of those characters, through a campaign while within another campaign.

I'm interested as a player.

How well endowed is the drow herself? It'll effect what character I play.

okay let's see. 3, 2, 4, 6 =13
2, 3, 4, 6 =13
4, 1, 6, 6 =16
2, 1, 4, 5 =11
2, 2, 6, 3 =11
1, 5, 4, 4 =13.

Not bad. Tempted as some sort of caster. Maybe a sorceress.

Doesn't 5e give you an array to assign from?

I think I would like to have a little more information about this, mostly because I have never played 5e before.

I would happily join a 5e game, never done it over a forum though so this should be fun!

It does, but their are all the old options as well. You can roll as I said or take the standard array, your pick.

Alright so we've got a good party going here in terms of numbers, it's gonna be level three with standard equipment and starting gold, the idea being you've been stripped of most of your more valuable stuff and have to earn items in the theatre.

I suppose a Futa is alright, I would like a balance of male and female to work with though for fun interactions and such, two characters who maybe don't get along so well forced to act like lovers etc etc.

Let me know if you have any questions!

So I'll be going Rogue 1/Sorceress 2 then just so everyone knows.

I am going to wait and see what this is about if you do not mind.

In what sense? I'm happy to help if you have any questions about 5e or anything like that.

Was directed here by Illven. Basic idea is a changeling actor with identity issues whose life experience is limited, but whose lived a thousand lives upon the stage, and draws from that experience to somehow survive this dangerous scenario. Mechanically, they'd be a Changeling Bard (either College Of Lore or, if allowed, homebrew College Of Deception).

Backup idea, for if we don't wanna be operating with two bards in the same party, is a knight in shining armor doing his best to play along for the sake of the unfortunate civilians caught up in this mess but not being a particularly skilled performer and having to get by on his natural looks and charm. Mechanically, LN or LG Paladin (likely Devotion), not sure what race but likely Human, Elf, or Half-Elf. Might even go Half-Orc or Goliath if I like the idea of a gentle giant. In such a case, it would be interesting seeing him forced to play the brutish savage, I imagine.

Rolls were 18/14/9/14/8/18. Could work for either, but two dump stats kinda hurts about as much as two god stats help...

Level 3 half elf samurai who reallyRocking out with a 17, 14, 13, 12, 13, and a 17.
Might as well have the aggressive front liner who actually gets really shy in any sort of intimate situation.

My tiefling bard is more geared towards being in the College of Valor - being a Gladiator does that... :)

I would be happy if someone took on the healer and deception roles... (So, Paladin works too...)
And while a gladiator, another one or two front liner could not hurt. :)

So that gives us two warrior types a bard and a sorcerer/rogue, not a bad setup I think! I'll probably it so you can heal between "acts" anyways so that should be pretty workable.

Healing between acts can probably be managed with two bards using Song Of Rest. Each HD spent healing will go a long way. :)

Can I assume the requests (both the UA and the homebrew) are allowed? If so, I'll go whip up a character sheet.

Ya I'll allow them, just so long as if we discover some broken bit you aren't abusing it.

Hmmm...i mean we've got alot of melee now that I'm rereading XD anyone willing to switch?

I mean...arguably the most broken part of the homebrew, at least at this point, is the Subtle Magic, which will let me potentially cast spells without the verbal/somatic components by making skill checks, which would allow me to perform my acting roles without them being interrupted by spells that can enhance the performance. I dunno how broken that's considered for this game, since I'm not sure how important the mechanics are gonna be, so up to you.

I'm likely gonna be ranged (even if I start out in melee), and I think Illven's sorcereress is gonna go ranged too.

sounds like we are split well down the middle, 2 people in front, two in the back, all we are missing is the person in the middle to complete this spit roast XD
Samurai itself really isnt all that broken but anyway, where would you like character sheets to be placed?

and most importantly when are we gonna get this train moving?
