“I don’t know why people expect art to make sense. They accept the fact that life doesn’t make sense.”
___
I've never been very good at forming an idea
and adhering to it without deviation.
I write for a couple of reasons; the most important of
being that I like to
keep my writing chops as sharp as possible.
I do my own, solo writing that I enjoy very much.
But it's just that; solo writing.
It lacks the back and forth of working with a partner.
The little bits of unexpected quick-footery
that I believe stirs up that critical thinking portion of our brain.
And, let's be honest, half the fun
is noticing and building on the little
idiosyncrasies that these characters pick up.
Seeing how they can, in some way, inhabit
a life of their own is a bit rewarding even though the result is
nothing more than the sum of your efforts.
I've gone off and rambled again.
Anyways, this is where you come in,
o reader mine...
I'm passively searching for literate, creative (female -sorry fellas)
writers to collaborate with.
The details of which
can be discussed if and when you (the aforementioned)
choose to reach out to me.
Themes
Violence
Inherent violence. generational violence etc.
this does NOT mean gore or senseless mayhem,
this is intended to be an examination of human proclivity for violence and
how it's a part of our genetic makeup
Horror
Both psychological and thematic.
I'm not exactly a horror movie buff or anything,
but I see movies. I know stuff!
Long Timelines
The sprawling story of two characters
and the supporting cast they meet along the way. Taking place over decades
or hundreds of years depending on the context
Psychology
This is more open ended than you might think.
If you have an idea you think fits into this vein, pitch it.
I'd love to hear
What I do Well
the Mundane over Magic
Where I spend most of my time. Being as I'm from the terrestrial world
(try as I might to escape), I find relating to and connecting with characters from
such more conducive to shared storytelling. This doesn't mean I'm opposed to Fantasy.
It's just been a while since I've stretched those wings.
Post Apocalyptic Settings
The world is a harsh place. So why don't we make ourselves feel better about it
by painting a gritty, awful, but mostly plausible scenario all us
Apes may find ourselves in the near future?
Noir
Of most varieties. I feel like this genre is such a chameleon
that attempting to quantify it here will just be a waste of time. Discuss with me if this
concept interests you.
Multiple Characters
I find that having a world full of characters makes the entire experience seem more alive.
I'm also open to character-sharing, provided my partner is willing.
I can play female characters - just don't ask me to plumb the depths of their psyche.
If I could do that, I'd be much richer.
Plots
Again, this is where you come in. I'm not here to pitch ideas and find someone to fill the hole.
I'm here to see what you bring to the table. If it's not my thing, I'll let you know. If it's
something I'd be interested in, you'd best believe
I'll want to discuss further and get something started.
Who I Am
Blood, tissue, muscle fibre, synaptic response and motor impulse.
I was born the same year the Challenger exploded and can remember the LA Riots.
The rest you can glean, or just ask, if and when we meet. Cat-fishe?
___
I'm usually available for ooc stuff.
I typically respond to messages and requests fairly quickly.
The pace and frequency of storyline replies varies greatly.
Don't act like you don't know what I mean.
