Tim Burton is one of my favorite artists and directors. Although I love all of his stuff, Edward Scissorhands in particularly is one of my all-time favorite creations. I recently re-watched the film (for the millionth time) and decided I wanted to roleplay against Edward Scissorhands.
Simply put, I want someone to play this character (Edward):
Aspects I would like to be included:
- I am looking for him to be played WITH scissor hands, of course. I can include the possibility of him receiving hands some time in the roleplay. This can be discussed.
- I would like to incorporate the element of fantasty/science-fiction within a modern-world setting, just like the film.
- Edward himself is an INVENTION - he is not truly human and does not physically age. His did not receive hands because his father (the inventor) died before he "installed" his hands, leaving him with the prototype of scissorhands.
- In the film, because he is not actually human, he never removes the leather-bound suit that he wears (so we actually don't know what's underneath, if there is skin/ genitalia, etc.). This can also be discussed.
Concept:
The film would take place IN THE NEAR-FUTURE, approximately 70 years after Edward Scissorhands returns to isolation in his gothic mansion. It would begin at the END OF THE FILM. At the end of the film, Edward is seen still in the mansion (un-aged) as his ex-lover (Kim played by Wyona Rider) is well into old age, telling her grand daughter the story of the Man with Scissor Hands. Since the film takes place in an era that is reminiscent of the 60s, 70s, and early 80s - we can safely place our timeline between 2030 and 2050.
I would like the roleplay to be mostly modern but with a near-future science-fictional twist. The variation of sci-fi and fantasy we include can also be discussed. It can be anywhere from advanced technology like weaponry and medicine, to flying vehicles. I am super open, and want this to be a fun, creative and interactive roleplay!
MY CHARACTER:
Since Kim (Wyona Rider) is in her 80s in the film, she will NOT be Edward's love interest in this roleplay. I would like Edward to be the same physical age (he is shown not aging) but having lived a life of isolation in the mansion. My character will be a teenager between the ages of 16 and 19 who trespasses into the mansion in order to escape a situation, squat or crash there overnight. She will be in a desperate situation, and completely estranged from her family in that time. She will be in distress to a varying degree. She can be a runaway, or perhaps has escaped from a dangerous situation. She can even be an orphan or a delinquent/criminal trying to escape the grasps of law. She uses the mansion, which she assumes is vacant, to hide out in.

Additional notes:
- I'm thinking the property has never been demolished or disturbed for all those decades because the owner (the inventor) left a massive fortune and arranged ahead of time for the property's taxes and etc. to be automatically paid and handle indefinitely. Edward would actually be rich, he just does not know it and has no concept of finances or wealth (the money would perhaps be secured in an account under his name Edward, and the last name of the inventor - which is up to you to decide).
THE SPECIFICS:
1) I roleplay in FIRST person, not in third. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU MUST ALSO ROLEPLAY IN FIRST PERSON. Third person role players are more than welcomed!
2) I do not roleplay over IM (Instant Messengers). ONLY on BlueMoon PM (Private Message) and/or BlueMoon threads.
3) I am very limited when it comes to time. BlueMoon is a hobby, not a job for me, so although I am committed, I will not be able to provide multi-daily responses. I'm looking for a partner who is very patient, and who doesn't mind my posts rolling in every few days.
4) ROMANCE and SEX is a MUST. I prefer plot-heavy roleplays that focus more on character development and couple dynamic OVER pure smut. Without quality story, I will lose interest almost immediately.
