Greetings Travelers, and welcome to New Emerald City. My name's Chett and I would be happy to show you around. If you're looking for the best food and drink around, this is the place! If you're looking for lodging though, you best just keep on moving. The inns are full, the stables are full, the church is full and we still have people that need a roof over their head and a place to sleep tonight.
It wasn't always like this. Why, just last month we were a normal town, taking care of our own and able to support adventurers like yourselves. But ever since those trolls on the other side of the river went berserk, all the folks out there up and left. Whole villages just migrated here to New Emerald City. Now we're bursting at the seams.
Hey, I just remembered something. The governor put a call out for aid to the other cities in Etindra. Is that what brought you here? Well, why didn't you say so! Tell you what, you all can stay with the missus and I tonight. We've got some room, if you don't mind sleeping on the kitchen floor. In the meantime, you should visit The Verdant Leaf if you're thirsty, and write your name on the governors visitor log. He'll be mighty glad you've come.
Welcome to my homebrew campaign, dear players. This is a high-fantasy setting of my own creation using the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition rulebooks. There are many online resources if you don't own these books and would like to play, plus I am more than willing to help you create your characters.
I am "new player friendly" so don't be nervous. We will be playing here in a play-by-post setting. There will be dice rolls on occasion, but we shall be primarily focusing on role-playing.
There may be themes here that are adult in nature (violence, blood, gore, sex, etc) so I hope they do not offend any of you. I have hopes that your characters will at some point get to enjoy some nsfw posts with each other (or the NPC's of the world) as well.
This is going to be story-driven with opportunities to sandbox. On the whole, though, there is an overarching plot that we will stick to. I will carry us along when we need it, but I hope that you folks will figure most things out for yourselves.
