Richard didn’t know how he felt. He was in pain, that’s what he could tell. His memories were hazy, he was on a plane, crossing the Pacific when there was something. An enormous storm. There was something about communications being gone, but he didn’t know much more. Suddenly, there had been an awful noise and the next thing he knew there was a gaping hole in the side of the plane, and he had been sucked through. He didn’t know what else happened, losing consciousness.
Then, there was the water, and pain everywhere. The salt was biting into him, and he freed himself. Somehow, he had been lucky enough to not break all of his bones in his fall, just a few. The storm was horrible and he struggled to remain above the water, fighting for every breath.
Finally, there had been another pain, but not so much water. He couldn’t open his eyes, he couldn’t do anything. He just was there, feeling the sand below him.
