The best part of summer, at least in Olivia's mind had been the trip to Florida she had taken with her family in the middle of August, a way of bringing a bit of joy to the last bit of the break. While she enjoyed spending time with her family and their visit to Disneyland, her favourite part had been the nights she spent out with her best friend, Sara. The pair had spent a decent amount of the trip with fake ids and booze they should have never been able to get their hands on - she had Sara to thank for that. The young woman, who was now bordering eighteen years old, had a hell of a time and the summer had been one of exploration, discovery and letting herself have some fun before she spent her senior year focusing on doing the best she could to get in to the best colleges possible.

There was one part that she would never forget - a man she met on Saturday night in a bar she shouldn't have been in. Sara had been the one to point him out, and as soon as she had seen him she knew she was hooked. She made sure to leave an impression, and as much as she hated it he had made an impression on her as well. That had made leaving everything behind much harder for her - she had never planned to actually care about anyone while she was out.

It was fleeting, though, and she knew she had control of herself well enough to move on with her life without a problem. Today she started school again which marked the beginning of her senior year. Hopefully this would be one of the best years of her life and her last before she jumped ship and moved half way across the country, holding out for a pre-med program at one of the ivy leagues. Her medium brown hair was put up in a loose ponytail and her face wore only a flash of lipstick and light mascara, with her lean body rocking a v-neck black t shirt and some jean shorts. Summer heat made pants a no go, and combined with some two inch heels that brought her line of sight just over average, she felt like she was looking quite amazing as she walked in to the building with Sara by her side.

The two women shared a first period class, and so they walked to the second floor classroom just in time for the bell to ring and mark the beginning of the day. They chattered back and forth quietly as they waited for the teacher to walk in and start the day.

Sitting in the teachers lounge waiting for the first day of classes, Mike found his mind racing. He was questioning his decision to move a thousand miles away from Florida, the place he had called home his entire life. But at 26, he also knew that he needed a change. And what better way than to go somewhere that you know absolutely no one?

Looking through his phone before heading to his classroom, he happened to come across a picture of the girl he had met this summer back home in Florida. He couldn't help but smile when he saw her big brown eyes and the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. He chuckled to himself as he recalled how he had let her believe that he bought the story that she was twenty-one. There was no doubt in his mind that she was probably not even eighteen years old yet. But each time he had thought of her after, he couldn't help but to smile. Putting his phone on silent and grabbing his things, he chuckled to himself as he thought how awkward it would be if she would be one of his students this year.

Before heading to class, he stopped to look in the mirror to make sure he was presentable for the teens who would certainly be harsh critics of the new teacher. Running his hair through his short brown hair filled with curls, he notices the teachers walking behind him. He is almost shocked at how pale they are when compared with his dark tan.

Standing outside the door for a second, Mike takes a deep breath before entering the classroom. The students are quite noisy as he walks to his desk, but quickly quiet down when they see the "new guy". Whispers fill the air as he moves to the front of his desk. Standing in front of the class, he suddenly feels his heart sink...in a good, yet strange way as he sees HER. He almost stares into her eyes as he begins to introduce himself, part of him hoping it's not really her, but the biggest part of him wishing that it would be.

Okay, this was supposed to be a good day - Olivia had been sure of that. She was supposed to see her friends again, get to talk to people that she may not have talked to since the past June and over all just have a relaxing day because no one actually taught anything on the first day. Apparently her dreams were getting smashed right away because she recognized who was speaking before she had even turned her head to acknowledge the teacher who had entered. Mike. Her stomach dropped low in her abdomen and for a moment she felt like she was going to faint as the colour drained from her face. Sara wasn't blind to her best friend's reaction, and she knew what was going on as soon as she followed her friend's gaze.

The two didn't speak. Liv moved as fast as she could through the typical "ice breakers" and did her best to avoid eye contact as much as she could. The morning period dragged on and on for what felt like forever, but eventually the end of the class came and she signaled for Sara to go on without her - they had different classes coming up anyways. Slowly, nervously, she made her way to the front of the classroom where Mike still sat. After everyone had left she offered him an apologetic expression.

"Hey," she said softly. "Fancy running in to you here."
