"Lady Melina, your carriage awaits." The servant walked through the front gates, followed closely by a beautiful young woman. All around, many citizens had gathered around the path as she walked past them. Most of the people were in an uproar, while everyone else was unsure of exactly what to think. Melina Elizabeth Edinburgh. At 18 years old, she was the young princess of the Edinburgh Royal family. Her family had a long history of quarrels with a neighboring kingdom, even leading to war at many times. However, they had both come to an agreement to arrange a marriage between Melina and the prince of the other kingdom. This wasn't exactly something that thrilled her or their people. It didn't seem to matter what sort of measure they tried to take. It always seemed like there would be hatred. She slowly stepped into the carriage, with the aid of the servant and sat inside. Not too long after, they were off, moving through the streets en route to the next kingdom. She was to meet with the young prince and get acquainted. Also, the ceremony was to be held the next day.
Melina sat back in the carriage, occasionally glancing outside the window. Her long blond hair billowed gently in the gentle breeze, and her pretty blue eyes shone in the sunlight. she had been dressed in one of her finest dresses, a light blue color with occasional white ribbons along the sides and in the back. She felt very much overdressed for a simple meeting, but her parents insisted on making a good impression. She looked to see that the kingdom was coming into view. The path would lead straight through the town to the kingdom gates. She knew there would be quite a group waiting for her to go through.
