“You look fine Nadi!” Kira mumbled as she fiddled with her keys, her sister was in the middle of reapplying her makeup, mostly lipstick that had been smudged while lipped locked with her boyfriend. Their group of friends was small. Close knit So when her sister started dating, of course it was the guy Kira was sweet on. She had never told her sister, never told anyone so she couldn’t blame Nadia. Her sister had this fire in her, this fire that she didn’t have. Of course he was sweet on her instead.
She had all but come to terms with that, as her sister finished adjusting the bright red spikes of her Mohawk, Kira tugged nervously on her own hair. Wondering if maybe she should cut it. Or dye it? Something different, shocking? She’d loved the bright pink and white shades when she’d first got it done. And still did but it was customary to change your appearance when your heart was broken.Wasn’t it? “Hey Nadi? Think we have time to head downtown before the party?”
Her sister laughed and cheered. Hugging her. She’d spent days convincing her to get the piercing. She was sober when they walked into the party, quickly finding their group of friends, all a dark spot in a world of glittering skin tight dresses and fake tans. Her sister leaped onto her boyfriend’s back and they quickly found a reason to excuse themselves to continue their canoodling. The same time, Conner, a redhead , the same height as her, tattoos around his eyes and more piercings then she had cared to count. Handed Kira her first beer.
“ Thanks.” She whispered sitting down and making a face as the fresh piercing rubbed against the silk black panties, Uncomfortable. She took a swig readily and crossed her legs, one clunky dock martin practically hanging off her foot. Torn fishnet stockings all along her lean legs. As she finished her beer, Conner stared after Nadia, it was no secret he was sweet on her. “ Does that kill you as much as it does me?” He asked sitting next to her. She answered by opening another beer.
“ Not anymore.”
Kira didn’t know how it happened, an hour into the party, the inst inst of the music was making her head spin and she’d almost polished off a 12 pack on her own. She found herself wandering around the bustling house, trying to track down her sister, who’d promised to stay sober to get them home. She’d lost her sweater somewhere downstairs, so all that was left was the skin tight leather skirt and a loosely fitting band t shirt. Underneath a push up silk brazier, black with a little pink bow in the center.
She didn’t remember putting her name in the hat that was passed around, though before she knew it she was guided into a room, right against a hard chest. Was he wearing cologne? Who ever it was, he smelled good. Her pretty blue eyes looked up in the dim of the room. He was cute too. A good distraction. “ I didn’t know they still played this at parties, here I thought it was all booze and video games.” She didn’t know how long she was in there. Or how she got home.

Her eyes opened to the bright light, but that wasn’t what woke her, no, she hurled herself from the bed and slid across the hardwood floor to the bathroom, passing her sister in the bathroom and retching into the toilet.
“ There she is! How’s the hangover?” Nadia asked as Kira slumped against the vanity after a second bout. “ Might want to hurry, we have class in an hour.”
Kira nodded and got up slowly going through the motions of her morning routine. Shower, and makeup easily hid how awful she felt. In fact she was almost fully recovered after a glass of grapefruit juice and a bite of toast with her father. He was a loving parent and cared for his girls, even as strange as they seemed at time he treated the two of them as princesses.
Kira had always been a daddy’s girl and took pride in pleasing him. He grinned as she passed her levels over to him. Strait A’s in all but physical education, where she had a B.
They left for class though the motion of the car nearly had Kira vomiting as soon as she opened the door.
“ Geez Kiki, how much did you drink last night?” Her sister asked , helping her from the car.A flush on her cheeks as blue eyes searched the parking lot. Flashes of flesh against her own, and her sister finding her disheveled and guiding her to the car. Accompanied with the ache that came with the loss of her innocence. Oh god, half the school probably knew. And she couldn’t even remember his face.
