It wasn't unusual for Friday nights to be a shared movie night in the Black household, with Kyle, his twin sister, and their parents enjoying one of any number of films. Old, new, funny, scary, it all varied. This movie night, however, was another where their parents had decided to leave them to their own devices. Being sixteen, they were left alone quite often, and being summertime, their parents took advantage of having them watch the house while they spent their own time together. That particular weekend they had gone out of town to visit some relatives, with the twins once again left home alone.
Kyle didn't mind. He and his sister were close, and had no issues spending time together. And the times they were left at home, they had near unlimited freedom to do as they will. That evening, before they were planning on starting the movie of the night, he was getting snacks ready in the kitchen. Dressed in a pair of dark green gym shorts and a black T-shirt, he carried a bowl of popcorn and their drinks into the living room, where the TV sat waiting for the two of them.
Fairly tall and rather slim, Kyle had a build suited for running, though he never really pursued an interest in sports, instead finding more interest in creative outlets. He sometimes dabbled in photography, or in the written word - be it another's work or attempting his own. His hair was dark brown, short, and unkempt, and he sported blue gray eyes that was inherited from their father's side of the family. Reaching the sofa, he placed the popcorn atop the coffee table and reached for the remote, calling for his sister. "I'm gonna start the movie!" he said, urgently.
