Background: After about ten years in the Air Force, Tom decided to get out and start over. Having been a trainer for emergency care, medical seemed a decent field to get in to. He's almost done with his bachelor's degree, still has a long way to go before being a doctor. Is undecided whether he wants to go that far with it.

Background: Chloe came from a rather wealthy family; she lived in a large house with a gated front and backyard, and she was under constant watch by a team of male guards whose job it was to protect her and her family from the "bugs." The guards wouldn't attack the bugs - that was against the law - but they did well to keep watch and rush the female members to safety - usually long before the creatures could come near. Thanks to this, Chloe had been spared any of the horrors of the giant insects. She'd never felt them, never seen any attacks by them, and she's hardly even heard stories about them.

Throughout her whole life, Chloe had been sheltered; however, since she joined college (roughly a year ago) she'd been living on her own. As a nurse, she cared deeply about people's well-being, and she didn't see it "fair" that others suffered from bugs while she got to be protected by guards. So, she put herself out on the front-lines. Now she was occupying an apartment all by herself a short walk away from the college, but she did receive monthly money from her parents to pay for things, so... she was still sort of living the pampered life.
