Jake walked casually towards his home on a late summer day. The temperature had calmed down a little, as the Earth rotated into the position getting ready for the fall of autumn. It was already 7:30 and getting dark, so the street lights were on already. He was a tall young man, around the age of 24, already working in a small computer company. He made enough to live on his own, and soon enough with his fiance, but that was yet to be seen, she was out of the country for a few weeks in Europe seeing her family in Germany, or something like that, Jake knew he was eager to be back with her. He smiled and turned the corner of the street and headed for one of he few apartment buildings of this small town. He liked it, but wished that soon enough he'd get the hell out of here, into the real world, and get to know how the big city life was like. Movement always attracted him, as did the provocative and the forbidden, but his fiance didn't know the last part yet.
Jake nodded at the guy in the lobby and headed for the elevator. He pressed the normal stainless steel button and waited for one of the two elevators to come down. One opened almost at once after his gesture and he went inside. He saw himself in the mirror, as he was alone and suddenly the lights went off. His heart beat as the elevator stopped, just then that moment, something had happened outside of his knowledge or imagination. The elevator came back in order after that moment and went up, Jake waited to go to the last floor. He was still somewhat nervous, as adrenaline still went through his veins. Since the apartment was new, he was the only one on this floor so far, so he used the hallway to this floor as his own most of the time. As the elevator doors opened, he noticed most of the doors were open, and even his own... He called out, "Hello?"
