"Jaz, this is the dumbest thing you've ever come up with."
A young man said as he sat across the table from Jasmine, the young captain of the sky ship "The Phoenix".
"Look Connor, it's pretty simple really. I capture the dragon, bring it to this crazy buyer, and then retire on some far away cloud away from all this bull shit."
A creature bounty lay on the table between the two, mentioning a dragon that was spotted in the area. Jasmine had been approached, along with other local bounty hunters, to capture the creature, alive. Some big wig, rich guy wanted to add him to his collection. Creatures like this were rare enough, but adding the danger they posed, most didn't dare take it on.
"It's a dragon, Jaz, not some griffin or manticore! I heard that a fleet in Roanoke was taken down, every last one, by a dragon. And you, you have a glorified caravel!"
Jasmine laughed at the last part before leaning forward, her emerald eyes sparkling. "That's the point. My ship is small enough that it probably won't notice me until I'm on it. Then I shoot it with my knock out juice covered spear hook and net him!"
Connor ran a hand through his fiery red hair before fixing her with a stern look. "And what if this doesn't go the way you want? What if this gets bad, Jaz. I don't want to lose you."
Jasmine smiled and leaned back, the picture of confidence. "Then my ship is small and fast enough to hightail it out of there. Don't worry Connor, I'll be fine. And if I come back with a few scraps, that's part of the job. Seriously though, we could both retire if this goes right."
"I still think this is the dumbest thing you've ever done, but I know I can't stop you. Besides, I assume you've already pulled the ship out of my shop?"
Jasmine grinned proudly before waving the keys in her left hand. Connor rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Well if this is going to be your last night, we might as well drink!"

Morning
Jasmine was up at the crack of dawn. She currently lived in a small apartment above her brothers shop with him. There were two beds, a kitchen and dining room all stuffed in to the same room. She felt like, even with all the great catches she made and recognition she had, they just couldn't get ahead. Paying off her fathers enormous debts almost seemed impossible. At least it did before today.
She smiled at her brothers sleeping form before donning her clothes. She chose her battle wear, a short black skirt, a button-up blouse that did little to hide her assets, a tight leather corset and her goggles. She gave herself a thumbs up in the mirror before descending to her brothers sky ship repair shop.
Docked below were several fairly impressive sky ships, all currently being worked on by her brother. He always had a talent for fixing things while Jasmine's talents always more physical. She came to stand in front of the smallest of the air ships, "The Phoenix". It was a small caravel that was impressively decked out. Her brother had made it as fast as possible since she often went after quick creatures, but it still had enough defenses that she wasn't easy prey.
Jasmine climbed up the rope ladder to the entrance and started the engine. A tweet sounded from behind her and she turned to a small, red bird that was resting in an open cage in the cock pit.
"Good morning Tasha!" She called over to it as it fluttered out of its cage. She had won Tasha during a gambling game, an unfortunate habit that she had picked up from her father. The little bird was a joy to have around and very easy to take care of. A good companion to have when you were hunting dragons.
Jasmine's sky ship took off towards the last known location of the now infamous dragon. She had heard rumors that something had been spotted in the sky ship graveyard, a place she avoided at all costs, but would have to venture to today. It took most of the morning to finally reach the coordinates and she set the auto pilot to move around while she went on to the deck.
It was early quiet, the wind barely blew and a fog hung around. It made Jasmine a little uneasy, but she went to the edge of the deck, pulling a compact telescope out and using it to look to the ground where hundreds of abandoned and destroyed sky ships lay. Now it was simply a waiting game, waiting to spot her prey.
