It's been almost a full year since Charlie Taylor's wife had passed away due to a sudden illness. It took both him and his twin daughters, whom in which were merely fifteen at the time she passed, a long time to adjust to their new reality. It took them even longer to accept it and be able to move on with their lives. Charlie would be lying if he said that he was over her death completely. He loved her with all of his heart, so to for her to be gone was a struggle each and every day.

Especially for his daughters.

Their sweet sixteen birthday was coming up soon. He's noticed how they seemed as though they weren't in a festive mood. Or maybe they were and he was reading it wrong. Regardless of it all, this celebration was just as important to them as it was for him. They would need a party to remember and Charlie definitely needed something to distract himself with. This party and everything that revolved around it was just the thing that he needed to get his mind off of everything.

Thankfully for everyone involved, the party would fall on a weekend - and it's in summer. So it's like a double bonus. All of their friends would be invited and any one else they wanted to come as well. It would be held at their lake house that had a perfect view of the lake. Clear and blue it was and the house was more like a small mansion. Oh yeah, the Taylor's are stinking rich, so that explained the dozens of people who were invited and the large house.

They were just ten minutes out from arriving. It was Friday, so the entire weekend would be filled with festivities of all kinds.

"We're almost there, my sweets," Charlie said to his daughters, looking back at them as he smiled at his twin daughters.

Charlotte and Elizabeth smiled at each other. Each had full lips and bright blue eyes. Each had blonde hair, although Charlotte's hung to the middle of her back and Elizabeth had recently cut hers just above the shoulder. The twins had blossomed into womanhood since their mother's death, becoming rather busty teenagers.

Charlotte looked out of the window. She loved the drive almost as much as the Lake House itself.

The twins shared everything. They had even shared a boyfriend. Elizabeth had been the one who dated Dallas, but after two months she allowed Charlotte to go on dates with him, posing as Elizabeth. Dallas had been their first and only fuck. Not that their father knew anything about that. Dallas stopped calling Elizabeth three weeks after he slept with her.

They also shared their concern for their father. They were old enough to understand he had needs, and they were sorry he couldn't get those needs fulfilled. They had discussed it, once or twice, in hushed tones in one or the other of their bedrooms at night. But they had yet to come up with a plan on how to hook their father up with someone.

"Thank you, Daddy," Charlotte said simply as they approached the Lake House.

"Oh course, my sweet daughter," Charlie said, giving a short smile back to Charlotte, while he looked at Elizabeth. He wondered what was going through that mind of hers. It was hard to tell sometimes, which was why he worried most about her.

His worry would make time pass as they arrived at the lake house. It was large as he remembered. It had been a good year since they had been here - not since the death of his wonderful wife and the mother of his twin girls. It was too painful, but for them, he would come back here anytime.

As the car would stop, Charlie made sure to hold open the door for his princesses. First, he let out Charlotte, then he circled around the car, and held Elizabeth's door open. "Don't worry about the bags. I'll get them. You just go and make yourselves comfortable. This is your weekend, my sweet, darling daughters. You shouldn't have to worry about any heavy lifting," Charlie assured them. He waited for them to go inside before he started on the bags.
