The music was loud and throbbing as Caden entered the club. He had his membership medallion on a short chain around his neck, just long enough to rest in the cleavage of his partly-open navy blue shirt. The doorman would have recognized him anyway; Caden was a regular member for almost five years, and had many friends here. Non-members could also get in, after showing i.d. and signing a release acknowledging the nature of the club, getting a temporary pass. There was the typical Friday night crowd here, some moving to the music on the dance floor, others huddled in dark booths playing private games. He noticed no one had gone to the display stage yet, but it was early. He saw his friends Wilkes and Marie heading off to the private rooms corridor, so he figured it wasn't that early. He found a stool at the bar and ordered a whiskey, his waiting interrupted by a friendly slap on his back.
"Hey Caden, good to see you," greeted a good friend, Neil. "What's it been? Three weeks?" He ordered his own drink. He was wearing a black leather vest with no shirt and matching pants. Caden just wore black jeans. He had showered from work and didn't want to be that much in 'costume' tonight.
"I was here two weeks ago, Neil. You just don't remember, you were rather involved, as I recall, with Janine that night."
"Oh yeah," Neil recalled with a wide smile, taking a sip of his drink. "You haven't put on a good show for some time, pal. Look, April left for East Coast - what? Three months ago? It's time you moved on, pal."
More like four months, Caden thought, but didn't correct his friend, not wanting to make his point. April's submission had been intense, but he never would have let her sacrifice her career when the opportunity came, so she was gone. "I've had a fling or two," he smiled to his Neil, taking his own sip of the whiskey. A couple of episodes with familiar club members, nothing particularly daring. He knew he wasn't satisfied, but his partners had been decently enough.
"Oh, he's just waiting for the right one, aren't you my love," said a sultry female voice, as Maurine slid up to join them. "You need some innocent to take under your wing and train, like you did to me," she added as she gave him a light peck on the cheek.
"You were hardly that innocent, and were never going to be a proper sub," Caden teased her back. "There's too much of the Domme in you. But it was fun for a few weeks." Maurine settled between the two Dom men and surveyed the room. She ordered a Bloody Mary.
"Hmm, any new faces tonight?" she said, as much to herself as her companions. A few minutes passed as she looked around. When her drink arrived, she took a sip and smacked her lips. "Well, now there's a juicy tidbit," she offered, looking at the entrance ropes and a young woman entering alone. Caden and Neil joined her long-distance inspection.
The young woman was dressed nicely for a night out, and, interestingly, wore a white collar around her neck. "She's done some research," Neil said speculatively as the girl looked around for a place, finally going to the other end of the bar and making an order. "At least, I assume she knows the meaning of the collar. In any case, I'm sure the sharks will be gathering."
"You should get in there, Caden," said Maurine helpfully. "If she needs to learn, there's no better here than you. Oh good gawd," she added with exasperation. "Harvey Kellerman is moving in. If she ends up with him, she'll thinks all we're about is a quick fuck and some face slaps. She'll never come back. Please, Caden, save the poor girl."
Caden had to admit, the deep red hair and her innocent face did attract his interest. He also knew his friends were pushing him to help him recover from his last, lost relationship. He hadn't come tonight looking for a hookup, but at least he could offer the girl some guidance and support, and save her from Harvey. "You could do it," he offered lightly to Maurine, who scoffed. "I'll put down twenty that says she's only into guys. Come on, Caden, go be a knight for the damsel."
"More like a dragon," Neil muttered into his glass, but Caden still heard him, giving his friend a sarcastic glare as he pushed off from the bar and headed over to the newcomer. Harvey, in his fifties and trying unsuccessfully to suck in his gut, was bending close to the girl and leering. She didn't look welcoming of his advances.
"Hey, sweets, glad you could make it," he greeted the girl with a friendly, non-threatening smile. "Harvey already buy you a drink? Well, thanks, Harvey. Hey, Maurine was asking about you," he added, pointing to his friends down the bar. "She's in a mood tonight; you might want to check that out." His smile was partly at the thought of letting Maurine deal with Harvey for a bit.
Harvey turned to look at Maurine, with her black lipstick and deep-cleavaged bustier, and tottered off in her direction. Caden slipped onto the stool beside the newcomer. "Hi, how do you do. My name is Caden, and let me welcome you to the club. Have you... been to this sort of scene before?" he offered politely.
