I don't know if anyone will take to this idea, but I figure I'll give it a shot. I would like to do a RP over PMs with older characters (25+) who still deal with crap from their past. Characters who are interested in finally trying to break through those problems, and maybe find a helping hand. These problems can be your own, or they can be made up. I'd say the former sounds much more interesting, and even I'd like to play that to some degree with myself. I'm admittedly kind of skeptical of people (myself included,) playing a direct carbon copy of themselves. Psychologically, I really have to wonder if that would be healthy. It seems like it could lead to some bad escapism or dependency. That said, it would not surprise me in the least if there weren't a few people on here who already use smut as an escape, whether on this site or elsewhere on the net. Because there was a point in my life where that kind of thing consumed far more of my time than it ever deserved. In the end, it really was just running. Running from the world and reality. I doubt I'm the only one it has ever happened to. I'm not that special. I'd be willing to bet nearly every person on the planet has something in them they don't like to look at, unless they've seriously learn to embrace themselves, problems and all.
A big point of the content of this RP would be the the RP itself serves as a sort of commentary on the issue(s) at hand, with both characters encouraging the other to overcome them, or a plot set in place that forces the characters into a position where they must stop and think critically about things. Plot will be discussed before it is written out, as it will be constructed based on the topic.
I am willing to do fantastical settings. Things need not be modern day. Given the nature of this idea, do not expect to start RPing right away. I'd like to get to know a bit about you, and why you've chosen the issue(s) your character has, even if they are not issues you personally possess. This is also one of those things where I could turn it down because something doesn't feel right about it getting into it. It will take some discussion.
I reiterate, this is not to be smut based. That's not to say sex can't be in it. Sexual problems could even be the theme discussed, but that's not a prerequisite. Smut is not to be the basis of this RP. I am seeking one, and only one, person to do this with, presuming there is anyone to be found. At such a time when a partner has been chosen, I will post that there is no longer an opening.
