Through the Portal / Fantasy Crossover to modern world (D&D 5e)

This is a fantasy setting and you are playing the non-human races. (humans being the most common race)

Humans have destroyed the forest and created farms and settlements in the sacred areas. Although most of the time humans try to live in peace with the fae and other wild creatures, The ever increasing population does see more conflicts which eventually needs addressing and resolution. The more aggressive races like orcs, goblins and kobolds were culled as they attacked farmers who took their lands, and the smaller races were at the brink of extinction because of the human genocide.

The governments would come and agree to land ownership rules which stops the races from killing one another. However, after hundreds of years of folk stories and tales of "monsters", most of the other races are often seen as lesser races or monsters by the humans, and everything is labeled "Evil" when they do not follow the same religion or have features different from humans.

From time to time, "adventurers" would enter a fae village and when the fae defend themselves, entire villages would be wiped out and the ancestral tombs would be raided. These "adventurers" would murder and plunder everything in their paths, and only the strong will prevail. When complained to the human governments, the governments would say that the "adventurers" were independent groups which were not under their jurisdiction.

Recently, a large adventuring party of humans came out of a dungeon where they slain a dragon and robbed several graves of the non-human inhabitants. With the "Heros of the land" catacombs raided, the adventurers took everyone and murdered the guards and destroyed 2 villages in their path of destruction. Finally, all the non-humans gathered and decided to hunt these Adventurers down and get rid of the problem once and for all.

An elite team of hunters were assembled and commissioned to recover all the ancient relics stolen and bring the adventurers to justice. The elite team were very competent and almost the best of what the non-humans could come up with and eventually, the trail was spotted and the hunt began. The humans were in a very dangerous dungeon and some of the adventurers were killed by the monsters inside. Finally, the advance party caught up with the humans but were annihilated. The troll managed to regenerate from his wounds and he told of 9 adventurers remaining and all of them still possess the relics. The hunt got closer and a portal was found and the humans were thought to be through the portal.

An initial group went through, but there was no reports. A second hunter party was sent to hunt down the 9 adventurers to recover the stolen relics.

Slaashi is a pure blood Yuanti. She looked a little human but she has slitted eyes and a fork tongue, one of the most human looking ones in the group. Slaashi saw a very man made environment. The walls were smooth and everything seemed unnatural. The gate they entered through seemed to have closed and several pieces of the gate was removed to make it inactive.

Slaashi was the scout and she moved around silently and searched. She spotted a few humans searching around and she waited there were strange lights that illuminate the area and she stalked a man and waited till he was alone and moved silently behind him. Slaashi covered his mouth and inserted 2 needles behind his ear and one in his spine and the man was paralyzed. He had a strange uniform but no armor. He carried a club with a light at the end and Shaashi brought him back to the group to interrogate him.

This man was a security guard and they were in a city called New York. Slaashi did not know what that meant and where New York was and noticed more men searching around. They were in a warehouse area near the sea and the whole city was filled with unnatural glow and it was both splendorous and intimidating to look at.

As Slaashi was a scout, she decided to look around and saw metal boxes on wheels zooming around. She started searching and saw flashing red lights nearby and saw men in uniformed around. "Something must have happened here." Slaashi said and moved silently in the shadows to observe.

There seemed to be things stolen and people killed. The bodies were getting cleared and Slaashi saw a uniformed man approached her. The man was ambushed and Slaashi grabbed him and inserted the needles into his neck and paralyzed him. Covering his mouth, Slaashi dragged him into the darkness and started interrogating the man and learned about the police and more of the world. The man was a police officer and Slaashi snapped his neck after getting all the information she could get and removed his belt and pouches. "Very strange indeed." Slaashi said and proceeded back to the group to report. It was rather disorienting and everything was confusing.

Brue is an Orc, he is about 5'11" and 300lbs of pure muscle. He is trained in grappling and martial arts. His clan was destroyed by the human army and he was an orphan and trained in a monastery. It took him years before he got his discipline and he became calm and efficient unlike other orcs. Brue has grey skin and 2 tusks protruding from his lower jaw.

Over the years, Brue joined a military group and has waged wars against humans. He was skilled in being the advanced commandos, able to infiltrate deep and kill armored foe -- unarmed. Brue was picked because his military leader was murdered by the party and they needed him for extra muscle. It is a mission that is also personal.

Brue met the others through the portal and joined in the recon. He moved silently through the alley and the whole place stinks of human. He looked around and there were strange glowing lights illuminating everything and saw a fire. He approached silently and moved behind a man and elbowed the back of his head and laid him down slowly. He moved ahead and punched 2 man in the gut and grabbed their necks. The men flailed and he snapped their necks. These humans stink and they seemed to wear strange clothing. Brue looked around and this seemed to be some kind of lair and he changed into human clothing to help him blend in better.

Brue saw some trees and approached and as he crossed the road, a fast moving vehicle nearly hit him. Brue dodged aside and the vehicle gave a loud horn and a screeching sound. Brue was confused and there seemed to be humans inside it. Brue walked over and saw 2 men inside and the men exited the vehicle and when they saw his face, the men got into their vehicle and sped off.

Brue did not care much and continued to the trees. Everything seemed unnatural here, the trees were trimmed and pavements were man-made. There were strange glowing lights which illuminate the paths. Brue touched the trees and rocks and everything seemed real, but different. As Brue was looking around, 2 uniformed men approached and Brue knew it was bad, moving to the trees and shrubs, Brue managed to hide and saw the men searching for him.

Brue covered the mouth of a man and rammed deadly punches into his vital organs and ruptured his kidney, spleen and broke some ribs. Brue slowly choked him out and heard footsteps approaching. The other man spotted the body and was forced to the ground. Brue grabbed his neck and choked him while pinning him down. The man was a balding old man and helpless against Brue's strength. When the man saw Brue, there was intense fear and Brue released him and subdued him. "Speak, have you seen my race before?"

The old man was trembling in fear and said, "Saw the bodies of 2 armored guys. Last week...." Brue was feeling around the man's body and he seemed to be wearing soft armor. "What did they do? they were killed?" Brue asked and started stripping the old man.

"They killed many people and even eliminated a team of elite officers." the old man said. "Then more officers came to support and eventually took them down." Brue was skeptical. This old man was soft and weak, unlikely that 100 of them could take out an armored Orc, but Brue got his answer and he felt the organs and squeezed the body of the man and smiled. "Organs still in the same place..." Brue muttered and covered the man's mouth and choked him silently. "Damn it, forgot to ask about the other group of humans and about survivors. Maybe I need to keep him or get another one..."

Brue heard loud noises and saw a group of men on metal vehicles on 2 wheels going by and followed them. They stopped and parked outside a bar and Brue approached. "Dirty humans..." Brue muttered as he grabbed a man in the alley and choked him silently. Brue smell the familiar scent of beer and food and entered the rear door. He saw people in the kitchen who called for help and it all went south...

"Its a trap!" Brue muttered and ran out but was surrounded by humans. But the humans armed with knives proved to be easy to take out as Brue skillfully hit them in their vitals and knocked them out. Even when 4 men tried to grab Brue, Brue had no problems tossing 2 men aside and choking the remaining 2 and knocking them out. Brue grabbed a man on his back and shoved him into the wall and crushed his throat with a punch.

Then sirens can be heard and flashing red and blue lights can be seen and the other men dispersed. Brue waited in ambush and saw more uniformed men entering the alley. Brue grabbed a man as he walked by and choked him silently in the shadows. The man kicked silently in the air before Brue snapped his neck. Brue saw another man with a flashlight approaching and as the man spotted the other man on the ground, Brue covered his mouth and rammed a few deadly punches into his back. The man flailed helplessly and he could not feel his legs. The man gave out muffled moans before Brue rammed a few more fists into his head and the man went limp.

2 more uniformed men entered the alley and Brue grabbed a man and shoved him into the wall and kneed his chest, breaking his ribs and with a punch in the back of the head, the man collapsed lifelessly on the ground. Brue heard loud bangs and saw the other man with a small metal device shooting at him. The pellets it shot out hurt a lot and Brue rushed over and bull rushed the man into the wall and continued to pound on the man until he stopped moving. "Damn, this thing hurts... it might even kill..." Brue said as he looked at the hole it created in him. Brue dug out the metal pellets with a knife and entered the bar to wash off the wounds with alcohol before drinking some and escaping through the rear before more humans arrive.

Slaashi had a compass which could find magic, and the world had not much magic. It seems like a good idea to use it to find relics and the group decided to use it to search. It took some time to find the closest item and the group arrived at a large building. Slaashi opened the rear door and entered and an alarm sounded. "What was that loud annoying sound?" Slaashi said and soon, uniformed men arrived and were easily taken down and interrogated. Slaashi told everyone to stay a distance as more "Police may be coming" As she searched the building. It was a museum and Slaashi found some faintly magical items which were not what they were looking for.

Then the police arrived and Slaashi realized that he was massively outnumbered and was arrested and taken to the police station.
Slaashi was taken to a cell and her weapons removed from her. She felt it was a bad idea and saw an old man on the other side of the cell. She noticed later, the old man casting a spell and then chatting with a policeman and the policeman let him out. "Hey, get me out." Slaashi said. "You need my help..."

The old man ignored her and Slaashi managed to reach the confused policeman and grabbed him. The policeman flailed briefly and went limp. "You can help us and we can pay you..." Suddenly the old man stopped. "But this seems like a bad idea..." The old man used the key to unlock Slaashi and they exited the cell.

The old man opened the gate and saw 2 plump cops chatting and Slaashi exited and punched the cops in the throats. The cops choked and Slaashi slammed a cop's head on the table and he went limp. The other cop was grabbed and Slaashi choked him silently. The old man grabbed a tazer from a cop and exited the cell area. They walked to the basement up the stairs and Slaashi bumped into a short cop. The cop was grabbed and kissed and he was confused. But by the time he realized he was in danger, it was too late as his neck was squeezed and he went limp.

The old man touched Slaashi and Slaashi grabbed his arm and the old man moaned in pain and Slaashi grabbed his throat. "Don't do that again..." Slaashi said and the old man gasped... " ok... I'm just telling you there are 3 cops outside...

Slaashi knocked on the door and a balding old cop entered the stairwell. The old cop was grabbed and choked silently around the corner and the other cops entered the stairwell. Slaashi rammed her palm up the nose of a large cop, shoving his bone of the nose into his brain, killing him instantly and grabbed the remaining bald cop and punched his gut. The cop moaned in pain and Slaashi covered his mouth and punched his head until he stopped moving.

"That was ... good." The old man said and directed Slaashi. Slaashi had no problems taking out surprised cops and the old man seemed to get her to the police vault where he got Slaashi her equipment back and took out a sack of cash and other items. "Are these yours?" Slasshi asked and the man said, "Some are..." And handed Slaashi some cash.

"I have more friends and we need your help." Slaashi said. "And we can help you get what you need."

Brue returned to the group with some equipment found on the uniformed humans. A few of the people informed Brue that Slaashi went to the museum and was taken by the humans. "Damn it..." Brue said and the group examined the equipment and then a group set out to search for others.

Brue joined a Tabaxi to search for Slaashi and as they moved into an alley further out, one of the Drows from the group signaled them in. The Drow has taken out 4 humans in the alley. The humans seemed to be homeless men dressed in rags. Brue showed the Drow some of the equipment on the uniformed men, and as they were examining the gun, a shot was fired and everyone was shocked at the power of the pistol. "Wow, don't mess with that." The Drow said.

The group went through the alley and saw another car with the flashing lights and the uniformed men were entering the alley. There were 2 more uniformed men on motorcycles and Brue was curious on how the motorcycles worked.

"Be careful...." A plump cop said to the other fat cop as they entered the alley and the fat cop bumped into a beautiful lady with cat like features. She has a tail and black fur on her skin. "Wow, what sort of weirdo are you.. great costume..." The fat cop said and the lady hugged him and kissed him.

"What is going on here... " The plump cop shouted and drew his baton and Brue emerged and grabbed his arm and kneed hi, in the gut. The plump cop's ribs were broken and he dropped his baton and Brue covered his mouth and grabbed him in a neck lock. The cop moaned in pain and flailed helplessly as Brue choked him. He did not put up much of a fight and was dragged into the shadows. Brue looked up and the fat cop was dragged around the corner and the Drow was questioning him.

Brue waited in ambush and the Tabaxi waited to set up the ambush with the approaching cops. "Hi boys..." The Tabaxi said as the cops entered the alley. The cops were shocked and approached the Tabaxi and examined her. "Wow, this is pretty good. " They said and touched the Tabaxi and the Tabaxi rubbed the balding head of the cop dressed in a leather jacket. "Love your uniform..."

Brue moved behind the other cop and placed him in a deep chokehold. The cop kicked helpless in the air for seconds and went limp. It was swift and silent. The other cop was grabbed and was shocked. Brue overpowered him and subdued him. It was an old human and his belt was removed. "Leather jacket, boots..." The Tabaxi said. "Better armor."

The Drow finished with the questioning of the first cop got the group to drag the old cop over and casted a spell and the old human was dazed and questioned. The police have arrested some non humans, and there was a heightened state of alert as even the older cops were sent on patrols. The old cop was stripped and his equipment examined and he has a bigger gun than the other cops. He has stripes on his shoulders and it means he was a sergeant and the Tabaxi chopped his neck and the old cop went limp. "Still easy to take out..." The Tabaxi said.

"So Slaashi may be captured by them and they met more of us that went through the portal." The Drow said.

From a distance, a group of men approached, all armed with homemade weapons like pipes and chains and they entered the alley. They were not in uniform and most of them stink. These men seemed to be angry that the group of homeless men were knocked out and attacked. Many of them seemed agitated and they started breaking things. Then soon, more police cars arrived and the group was amused to see the cops coming and interrogating everyone.

"Humans taking in humans..." The Drow chuckled and had her bow out but decided to just watch. She threw a gun at the dumpster where they hae hidden the unconscious cops and an old cop walked over, picked up the gun and spotted the cops in the dumpster. "Alright... Backup! Officer down!"

The whole encounter escalated. The cops contained everyone and more cops arrived and soon, there were more than 20 cops and all the men were arrested and the unconscious cops taken to the hospital. The whole incident lasted more than an hour and Brue was quite impressed. "They talk into the black box thing and more of them appeared." Brue said. "In just minutes!"

All the cops left but just 2 plump cops. The group waited and about an hour later, one of the cops entered the alley to pee. "So round..." Brue whispered and covered his mouth and choked him silently. The Drow casted a spell and brought the charmed cop into the alley where more interrogations were made for the group to understand how the technology works.

Slaashi was surprised as the others managed to find her and take out the police station. She introduced the old man to them so the human does not get killed and the modern technology worked. The group stayed easily for 30 more minutes and even when the cops returned from patrol, they were easily taken out.

There was a shift change coming and one by one, more cops arrived and were ambushed. Suddenly, the alarm sounded and 3 cops in the changing room quickly put on their flack vests and rushed to the armory. They arrived and the officers were missing and the non-humans converged on them.

Slaashi saw a Drow with a tall cop in his arms getting the cop to turn off the alarm and knocking him out after. However, no one wanted to stay after the alarm and the group quickly left.

There was a manhunt after. Cops from the other precinct were all out and state police joined in. It was however futile as they did not know what they were up against.

4 cops entered a park and searched and as they walked passed a tree, the vines of the tree wrapped around the necks of the 2 rear cops and they were choked. The other 2 cops did not fare well as they were ambushed and with a few punches, they were subdued.

Slaashi saw 2 more motorcycle cops and approached them. A short cop was grabbed and Slaashi kissed him. Her forked tongue was a tip which release poisons and it pricked the cop inside his mouth. The other plump cop was confused and she approached him as the other cop staggered and collapsed.

The plump cop's gun was removed and Slaashi punched him in his kidney rupturing it. "What is this..." Slaashi said and took the cop's tazer and fired into the cop. The cop was shocked and flailed helplessly and as Slaashi released the button, he went limp.

"So much to learn..." Slaashi said. "These guys are so soft and yet their weapons are so good... Love his smell and this was fun..."
