I love to have a baseline plot and work cohesively with my partner to explore from that point. For example if I wanted an older male with a younger female, it could be incest related, boss, worker related, random bar meeting anything. It allows you to play a character you want to create and play.

Slave trade i.e. Modern, futuristic, post apocalyptic, historical
Race play ie white x black, Asian, middle eastern.
Super hero x villain ie dark knight world, marvel world etc
