On the edge of known space, there is a world known as SC-113, better known as Astarte. First surveyed by human explorers before the First Galactic War, the world was noted for its fertile soil and oxygen-rich atmosphere. Most intriguing was a form of local flora, which was found to enhance the human libido. Shortly after the survey began however, the human explorers lost contact with their company. After their second transmission failed to reach Earth intact, it was assumed the group had been ambushed by an alien patrol or space pirates. With the start of the war, the planet was swiftly forgotten by Earth and the various colonist groups.
Forty-two years after its discovery however, an alien beacon was detected upon the planet by a United Earth Alliance patrol. The signal was thoroughly analyzed, but it is unknown which alien race this signal might belong to. What was known however was the craft was absolutely massive, well beyond the battlecruisers of Earth and most of the alien factions they were familiar with. Easily the size of a small city.
One could only imagine the loot one might find within a craft of that size.
The United Earth Alliance has been slow to assemble a flotilla to investigate, likely hoping to return home with the alien ship in tow. A mistake that will cost them. Even now, bounties placed by various crime lords and black market dealers have been placed, offering fat rewards for any scav team brave or foolish enough to return from Astarte with anything valuable from the craft. There's enough money on offer for an ordinary woman to live like a queen for ten lifetimes.
