As he felt her warm fluids flooding around his cock and trickling down his balls, he smiled triumphantly down at her, loving the look on her face as orgasm rocked through her body. An orgasm HE had induced. It was enough to send him over the edge as well, but out of a sense of decency, he pulled out of her before he shot his load. As spurts of cum came from the tip of his cock, he shivered and moaned, his climax tearing through him and the sudden cold air surrounding his dick adding a new different sensation to the experience.

When he was done, he stood on shaky legs, panting heavily and plopped down in the only chair in the room. Ross sat there for several moments, regaining his breath before standing up and tucking himself back into his pants. He cleaned up the mess he'd made on the floor with an old ratty shirt hanging on a hook by the door, tossing it into the waistbasket when he was done. He finally looked over at Elle, on the desk. Hesitantly, he said quietly, "Thank you. You and Manta are about all I have now..." He gave her a grim smile then started walking towards the door. When he got there, he paused before opening it. "We'll figure everything out tomorrow....together. For now, why don't you try and get some sleep. I know there isn't a bed or anything to cover up with--you can use my jacket as a blanket if you want--but the best I can offer is this room, where you'll have some privacy." He hesitated in the doorway, like he was going to say more, but instead he just uttered a quiet "Good night" and left, closing the door behind him.

---------------------------

After he came she laid back on the table resting and recovering from her orgasm. She couldn't believe he had made her feel so good, this was the man that had raped her! She closed her eyes, trying to make sense of her feelings. She looked over at him after he sat down, listening to him talk. He sounded different for sure. "Thanks." She sat up on the desk and gathered her clothes, slipping them back on.

She walked over to the room and gave him a quick hug before going into the room. "Night." she said and curled up in the warmest corner she could. She didn't have much trouble falling asleep since she was a bit worn out from their little fun. She rested her chin on her knees and fell asleep like that.

--------------------------

The next morning, they got up at dawn and left the warehouse almost as good as new--not that anyone would notice. Ross hadn't slept a wink but he'd done some speed during the night/early morning and was still feeling the effects of it. They drove down the road for a while, Ross and Manta both wearing shades as the sun slowly made it's way into the sky. "So, here's the plan: we'll go to a--" Ross began, driving the car in a self-assured manner.

"What about breakfast?" Manta said, interrupting him. Normally, he'd wait for Ross to finish a thought, but he remembered Elle didn't eat the last meal he'd made her before they'd left the house. He wanted to make sure she got some food in her belly before Ross drove past too many restaurants and got too involved with his plans.

Ross glanced at the tall black man sitting beside him as if he didn't know the man. "I'm hungry," Manta insisted. Ross shrugged at him shaking his head. HE wasn't hungry, but then again, he was stoned right now so of course he wasn't hungry. He glanced in the rearview mirror at the girl sitting in the backseat. SHE was probably hungry. Twisting his mouth he acceded to the request.

"Where should we go?" he asked, paying attention to the road.

Manta glanced in the back at Elle before answering. "IHOP," he said in that deep rumbling voice of his.

Ross frowned in impatience. "Can't we just stop by a McDonald's or something?"

Manta frowned as well. "When I said I was hungry, I meant for 'food', boss," he said dryly.

"Alright, alright," Ross said, growling in frustration as he pulled into the parking lot.

When they got inside and were seated, both Manta and Elle ordered meals but all Ross got was a cup of coffee for himself. "Alright, here's what I'm thinking," Ross said, leaning across the table towards the other two sitting across from him. "First, we'll go to a hotel and check in. That's where we'll stay for the time being. We've got enough money to last us a while." He took a sip of his coffee and looked around anxiously to make sure nobody nearby was listening. Even though there was nobody seated even remotely close to them, when he started talking again, he leaned even lower onto the table and started whispering a little bit. "We'll stay there and wait things out for a few days. When the cops calm down some, we'll go out and arrange a meeting with old Marley's gang. He'll help us get the word out that we're looking for new members." He took a sip of his coffee and eyed a passing waitress suspiciously. "I don't want there to be any mistakes this time. Last time we acted too quickly and got burned. We'll take things slow now. Are we all agreed?" When the other two nodded, he sat back and let himself relax--well as relaxed as Ross could be hyped up on speed and caffeine.

Elle couldn't help but chuckle inside as Manta demanded they stop for breakfast and she had a feeling it was for her more then him. Once they were in the IHOP she sat in the booth next to Manta. Elle had ordered eggs and french toast, her eggs over easy of course, and a tall glass of chocolate milk. She could tell Ross was still anxious, and she was slightly too. She was now an accomplice with them, and could be in just as much trouble if the cops got them. "A hotel sounds nice, I get my own room?" She gave him a slight smirk, part of her was teasing, the other part wasn't.

She sipped her chocolate milk and looked around the restaurant, which was pretty deserted. She waited for Ross' response to her question, and thought back to last night for a moment. How Ross had taken her a bit more passionately then forcefully. It actually surprised her that he was capable of such romance, and she hoped more of their encounters would be like that.

Ross wasn't even really paying attention to her. He was busy looking across the way, where he spied some men in dark uniforms on the other side of a divider. He couldn't see them past the top of their shoulders but he was almost positive they were cops. When he heard her speak he responded distractedly. "Uh-huh, yeah, sure." He stood up a little in his seat trying to get a better look at the men at the other table without drawing too much attention and his quickly darting eyes thought they spotted a badge on the one guy's front pocket. He quickly sat down with a hiss, not seeing the odd look the passing waitress gave him and he hunched over the table speaking in hurried tones. "Okay, you guys need to hurry up and finish! We've gotta go!"

Manta turned in his seat to look in that direction and saw the men who had apparently unnerved Ross. His eyes weren't affected by any stimulants so he saw what Ross didn't see--namely, what was really there. He sighed as he turned back around and shared a glance with Elle. "We haven't finished our breakfast," he said, when mostly he was concerned about Elle eating. "Just relax, boss."

While Manta had been speaking, Ross had been biting his knuckle, his eyes never leaving the men across the room and his leg bouncing in place under the table. After Manta spoke he directed his attention at the large black man and in urgent tones said, "We'll get a frigging doggy bag! We're leaving NOW!" And he waited anxiously as a waitress brought a styrofoam container for their food and the two of them shoveled what they hadn't eaten into them.

Ross kept looking over his shoulder at the men as he paid the bill at the counter up front, handing cash to the man behind the register. He only seemed to return to himself somewhat when they were back in the car and on the road. 15 minutes after the three had left, the two men at the other table walked up front to pay their breakfast bill. Both had on dark blue jumpsuits, like the kind a custodial worker might wear and one of the men had a rag stuffed into his breast pocket, a bit of the cloth hanging down from it.

When they got to a hotel they parked out front and entered. It wasn't a big or fancy place but it wasn't sleezy either. Kind of small and with homey decorations. When they walked up to the counter Ross said to the person behind it, "One room, please."

Elle was rather upset at Ross' jumpiness but she just went along with him. She decided to wait to finish her food until they got to the room, and hopefully she would get her own room. Elle stayed near Manta as they walked into the hotel. Sure Ross was being nicer to her, but Manta still had her well being in mind more.

The hotel looked nice and she frowned when Ross requested one room, there at least better be two beds in it. She followed them back to the room, glad Ross didn't get some flea bag motel. She could survive staying her, but she desperately wanted to go back to her house. So much of her stuff was there. She had to leave everything behind because of him, and that kinda upset her. She would have to demand him to take her back, the cops had no right to go through her house.

When they got to the room, Ross hustled them both inside, before shutting the door and closing the curtains. It was pretty generic, with two large beds, covered in dull colored flower prints, a night table between them with a telephone and lamp on it. A dresser and a small 20" TV on a stand, and a table with two chairs over in one corner. Further into the room was a closet opposite the bathroom.

Walking into the room, Ross sat down on one of the beds and cradled his head in his hands. He sat like that for the longest time, then looked up at the other two wearily. "I think..." he said pausing, looking drawn and haggard. "...I think I need to lie down for a while..." His voice was slow and heavy with fatigue. The coffee and the drugs were no longer keeping him running and it had been a while since he'd slept very well, let alone slept at all.

Manta came towards the bed, to stand next to the shorter man. "You go on a take a rest, boss," he said in that deep rumbling voice. "We're just waiting now, anyways. You go ahead and rest."

Ross looked around, like he still couldn't decide, his mind full of cotton, but not wanting to give in to sleep yet. "Don't..." he said whispering, looking up at the large black man. "Don't...let her leave..." He glanced behind Manta at Elle and then back up at the other man.

"I've got it under control, boss," he said nodding.

That seemed to decide him and Ross nodded wearily, then took off his shirt and climbed onto the bed. He tried to take his boots off from a prone position, but didn't have much luck before Manta stepped forward and helped him. Even before his second boot came off, Ros was lying on the pillow passed out.

Shaking his head and thinking the man was going to kill himself one day, Manta sighed and turned back to Elle. "You want to finish your breakfast?" he asked in a deep whisper. He couldn't baby Ross too much when the man tried to kill himself with drugs or poor diet and lack of sleep, but he could look after Elle and make sure she didn't suffer needlessly.

Elle was a bit worried about Ross now that she watched him sleep. He might hurt himself with his lifestyle, and that was one of the main reasons she had worked to avoid getting addicted. The feelings of her last highs were still fresh in her mind. She really hoped Ross wouldn't kill himself, not that she cared that much about him, but she worried about his well being. Plus if he was gone she was caught in quite a mess.

She looked to Manta when he spoke, and gave a nod, sitting down at the table with Manta. She grabbed her styrofoam container and opened it up, frowning slightly, the syrup had made the toast all soggy. She closed the lid and leaned back in her chair, looking at Manta. She glanced over at Ross for a moment, to make sure he wasn't awake, "Manta, can... can you take me back to my house?" She dared to ask, hopefully she could negotiate with him, "I have no clothes, no nothing, and I need to live off stuff. Ross is dead to the world, and I wont run off." She looked at him with desperate eyes, "I'm having a hard enough time leaving my house, can't I just grab some things?"

Manta opened his own container of food and took out some bacon and bit into it as she spoke. Then he was somewhat choking on it, and coughed a little to clear his throat as he looked at her surprised. Then he shook his head and looked back down at his meal. "Uh-uh," he said, chewing a mouthful and swallowing. "No way. Ross won't like that. We abandoned the house for a reason, because the cops have their attention on it." He shook his head, taking up some scrambled eggs with his fingers, wiping them on a napkin and swallowing before he spoke again. "It's too risky."

Then he settled down to finishing the rest of his breakfast, which had been scrambled eggs with sausage and bacon and toast. As he lifted another bit of egg to his mouth, he paused and looked at the duffle bag on the floor, the one he had packed for her. He knew exactly what was in there: he'd opened the top drawer of her dresser and took out all the underwear and bras he could grab in one bear paw sized hand; then he'd opened the next drawer and gotten out three pairs of pants. That was it. That was all he'd had time to grab before Ross had shoved them from the room. Granted, she might be able to wear her shirt for a long time, but she probably wouldn't like that very much.

He sighed and tossed the eggs in his hand back into the container, shaking it off his hand before wiping it with a napkin. Then he looked at Elle. "If Ross wakes up before we get back, he's gonna kill me," he said, giving her a resigned look.

Then he was up and going over to the small nightstand where Ross had placed the car keys. He glanced at the man asleep on the bed, but he didn't even move, completely dead to the world. In fact, he could have been mistaken for dead, if Manta didn't hear the slight intake and exhale of his breath.

As he walked back over to the door, he said, "Grab the bag," pointing to the half-packed duffle on the floor and opening the door for her. When she walked through, Manta took one last look at Ross, and sighed again before following her to the car.

The drive to her house didn't take as long as driving to the warehouse did but it was still a pretty good distance. When they got there, Manta parked on the street out front and turned to her. "Now you be quick about it," he said, glancing out the windows alertly. "I'll be right here waiting when you get back. 15 minutes and I'm coming in to look for you, okay?" His voice wasn't of distrust but of anxiety of getting back before Ross woke up to find them missing. The man would have a paranoid fit if that happened.

Elle had the half empty bag on her shoulder and leaned against the drivers side door, "I will, don't worry. I'll be back in ten." She said with a smile and crossed the street. She was very surprised Manta brought her here, he was loyal to Ross, but had a soft spot for her.

She opened the door and stepped inside, everything had looked how they left it. So hopefully no cops had come to her house yet. She headed up the steps and straight to her bedroom. For a moment she paused, staring at her room, thinking about how it had been her prison for those few days. She could just end this, call the cops, tell them where Ross was and say her and Manta had no part in it. She was a prisoner after all. Those thoughts ran through her head as she stuffed shirts and pants into her bag. The only thing stopping her from picking up a phone and calling was Manta, he trusted her and who knew what kind of trouble he would be in if she betrayed them.

She grumbled to herself and grabbed a few other things, a brush, toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, and few other necessities. She also grabbed a few picture frames and other valuables, because she had no idea when Ross would let her go. After everything was stuffed into her duffel bag she headed back downstairs. She resisted the urge to use the phone again and opened the front door.

Outside, Manta and the car are gone and there is no sign of them on the street. Parked by the curb is a dark car and standing on the steps to her house is a man. Clean shaven and with close-cropped hair, he blinks in surprise as she opens the door. He's dressed in suit and tie and there is a gun holster at his belt. He smiles at her and takes off his sunglasses revealing sharp blue eyes.

"Good afternoon," he says in a familiar baritone. "You're Elle, I presume? My name is Detective Whitemore," he flashed his badge at her before returning it to the clip at his belt. "We spoke on the phone last night, if you remember?" He put his hands in his pockets and smiled charmingly at her. "If I could just ask you a few questions? Do you know a man named Ross Stiller, by any chance?" His face was friendly, but his eyes were piercing in their gaze, almost suspicious but watching her every facial expression and analyzing it. "I believe he's been into some illegal activity recently and the police department has been looking for him. If you have any information that might shed light on his whereabouts...?"

Detective Whitemore's appearance:

Elle stood motionless for a moment, her bag slung over her shoulder. She tried not to show her panic on her face, he would read that for sure. "Yes, I remember you from last night." She gave a small smile to hide her panicking eyes. She had to think and quickly, because either way this could end badly for her. "You can ask me a few questions, though I am going out of town for a little while." She knew he was studying her for any ounce of fear or guilt, and she had to fight that.

She could just turn them all in, right here, and end her nightmare. Still every instinct was telling her to not give in, Ross would kill her for sure, if he ever got the chance. She wanted to turn in Ross, but just couldn't bring herself to do it. For her sake, and even Mantas, she would keep up her appearance and just hope someone rescued her. Manta wouldn't leave her behind.... she hoped.

"Would you like to have a seat?" She asked, gesturing to the porch swing.

Detective Whitemore didn't see everything that went on behind her eyes and smile, but he did get a bad feeling from the way she was acting. Something was not right... But he hid his own emotions well and smiled charmingly at her as she offered him the seat. "Oh, well, yes, thank you," he said and took a seat on the swing on the porch. "Lovely neighborhood." He commented with a smile, his blue eyes looking around kindly. "Where are you going, if I might ask? Is there any way I could reach you if I have any more questions?" He straightened his jacket as he sat and although friendly and open, his face held a stern seriousness to it. "Well, I'll try not to take up too much of your time. I'm sure you've got a plane or a bus to catch." He was basically fishing for information without appearing to do so, and looked down casually as he took a pen and small noptepad from his pocket.

Languidly he flipped through the pages to a blank one and looked up at her, that smile flashing again before the seriousness was back. "Have you ever met a man named Ross Stiller? Do you know where I might find him? Has he been in this house? The only reason I am here is because last night several phone calls were made to different prisons where some of his men, who were recently arrested were staying. The exact nature of the calls is unknown, but I believe they were to call in hits on his men who are now witnesses in the case against him. Those phone calls were made from this house." He paused and looked at her levelly. "He's a suspect in connection with a major drug ring and it would be very important for you to be truthful with me, if you have any information concerning this man. He's dangerous and paranoid and will eventually kill anyone he's associated with." The woman didn't look like a druggy, but he had faint suspicions that she was associated with Ross in some way. But still, he was just fishing, watching her closely and seeing how she reacted.

He didn't notice the car that drove by on the street after he'd asked his questions, nor the tall burly black man behind the wheel. Manta looked out the windows, making sure Elle saw him and drove to the end of the block, where he parked, within sight of the house. He knew the man on the porch with her, a certain detective that had been hounding Ross and him for 5 years. The man was very perceptive and had made several good cases against Ross, but they'd always gotten away. Manta watched from the rearview mirror and prayed that Elle didn't give them up. But more importantly, that Detective Whitemore wouldn't figure out she was connected with Ross.

Elle gave a small smile, and looked like she was in thought for a moment. The idea of what to say to him struck her suddenly and she looked at the detective. "Well, last night a few of my cousin's friends came over, because they knew my aunt as well, from back when they all used to hang out at his house of course. We played poker, had a fun time He could have been one of them... I made the mistake of letting them use my phone while I was out of the house. They told me they were going to call my cousin and speak with him about her death, she was pretty important to him." She knew this story wouldn't hold up as soon as he checked for her cousin to be in prison. "I wish I could tell you more about this Ross guy, but I'm afraid none of them went by that name." She looked completely honest, and hopefully if he didn't research her too much she would get by with this lie.

Then she saw Manta, her eyes flickered for only a second and she felt so relieved. Now to just ditch the cop and she would be able to get out of this mess. "I'm sorry I can't be of more help detective, but I'm going on a cruise, and sadly no phone service, but as soon as I get back we will try and identify these men. " She started down the steps, "I must catch my plane though. " She hoped he would just let her go.

Now he knew she was involved. He didn't know anything about her(yet), but he could smell the lie as if it was an odor saturating the air around him. He had nothing to call her on it though and no reason to keep her here any longer, especially if she was going to lie and he couldn't prove it. But he would look into her family history and call these people, these "cousins" and he scribbled it all down in his notebook, nodding his head to himself. He looked at her seriously as he tucked his pen and notepad away, then let the smile creep back. There was a knowing look in his eyes as he watched her. "Thank you for your time. I'll check up on your story if you don't mind. And I hope you have a fun time on your cruise." Then he was standing up and nodding to her politely and walking down the steps to his car, putting his sunglasses on before he opened the driver's side door and got in. He gave her a small wave and smile before pulling away from the curb and driving away. He would get to the bottom of this and drag Elle down with Ross when he caught him. She'd just lied to an officer of the law afterall. One thing he knew for certain, was that she wasn't going on a cruise, based on just the one duffle bag but he was going to be calling airlines and watching just in case.

Elle smiled still, having no idea he could tell her lie, but that didn't matter. She just had to get out of here, because he would find out her lie easy enough. She would have to tell Ross about this, maybe he could, protect her. Now she was thinking crazy, going to the man who brought her into this, for help. She waved back to him and watched him drive off. She didn't go to Manta's car until she was sure he was out of site. She hurried into the passenger seat, shoved her duffel bag into the back and collapsed into her seat. She got herself in a real mess now.

"I blew it Manta..." She sighed and leaned back in her seat, "I'm a terrible liar.... and now once he finds out the story I told him was fake he will think I'm working for Ross too!" She looked over at him, "What have I gotten myself into?"

Manta watched anxiously and breathed a small sigh of relief as the detective got in his car and drove away. Then he waited for Elle, his mind running a mile a minute wondering what she could have possibly have said to make him go away. When she got in the car, he looked at her silently, until she'd finished speaking. "I won't lie to you," he said in a resigned tone. "It's bad if he's on the trail. It can't be helped. Anyone is made into a bad liar when faced with that detective. Besides," he said smiling at her a little. "Of course he'll think that. Because you ARE with us." The grin he gave her was slightly apologetic but he also shrugged saying It is what it is with the gesture.

As he pulled away from the curb and started to drive back to the hotel, he spoke to her while looking at the road. "I need to tell Ross," he glanced at her and knew what she was thinking. "I know, he'll be super paranoid. But he's gotta know that Whitemore is back and after him again." Back at the hotel room, Ross was still asleep, but considering they'd only been gone an hour, that wasn't very surprising. The man had barely moved since they'd left and continued to sleep for several hours more. Around lunch time, Manta went out to get something for them to eat since the hotel didn't offer room service. He nodded at Elle and gave Ross a glance before leaving the room, basically saying keep an eye on him and trusting her not to leave while he was gone. She'd already more than proven herself earlier and he fully trusted her to stay.

While he was gone Ross woke up, his face drawn and weary still and looked around the room with a frown, like he didn't remember where he was. His eyes fell on Elle and recognition bloomed in his eyes, but then he squinted a little. "Where's Manta?" he asked in a scratchy just-woken-up voice. He rubbed his head and continued to lay there, not yet ready to get up.

Elle was pretty bored, and watched a little tv at low volume. Just about when she was getting hungry Manta said he would go out for food. She just asked for a cheeseburger and watched him leave. Of course she wouldn't leave now, she wondered if this made her a criminal now. Ross stirred on the bed and she looked over at him, "He went to get lunch." She said, still lounging on the other bed and watching animal planet. "You okay?" She asked.

He looked like a mess, either it was from the drugs or him just waking up. Her worry for him surprised her a bit, but she would have to like Ross sooner or later. Manta was her security for sure, but Ross, who knew what he would do to her next. Elle stood up and walked to the bathroom. She returned with a cup of water and set it on the desk next to Ross. "Here, this might help..." She shrugged and laid back on her bed watching tv.

Ross lay there, his brow furrowed as she came back with a glass of water, licking his lips uncertainly. He sat up on his elbow with an aching groan and picked up the cup and took a few sips from it, looking at the TV as he did so. What was that? An animal show? He looked at her with a small frown. Manta was gone and here she was...watching TV? "You're still here?" he asked in his raspy voice as he sat up and leaned against the headboard for support. Really he had expected her to leave the first chance she got, not because he didn't realize how deep in this she was--he knew she was basically associated with him and his gang now--but because he didn't think she'd stay. People ran from trouble didn't they? And from the way their relationship had started and how it was now, he considered himself to be the definition of trouble. He didn't know where her loyalties lay and he doubted they rested with him at all. So it perplexed him a bit to see Manta gone and her still here.

It was only a few moments later when Manta returned with a bag from a local fast food place and his eyes opened wide to see Ross sitting up and awake. "Boss!" he said with a smile as he came into the room shutting the door behind himself. "It's good to see you awake. Hope you got a good rest?" Ross's lips twitched in what could have been a small smile as he nodded at the larger man. Manta nodded back, before turning to Elle and reaching into the bag and handing her the burger she'd wanted. "Hope that's alright," he said with a small smile. Watching the exchange, suddenly Ross realized the relationship between the two. From the look of things it was platonic, but he cursed himself for not seeing it before. She wasn't staying for him, she was staying for Manta!

He chuckled to himself quietly as Manta came over and offered him a burger as well. The thought of food made him feel sick so he shook his head and held up a hand, but Manta sighed with a disapproving frown and set it on the nightstand right by his cup of water. Ross stared in amused shock. So, the man was trying to take care of the girl and he was going to try and mother him as well? How interesting... Somewhere along the line in the past few days, a change had come over his right-hand man and he hadn't even realized it. Course there had been the drugs and the cops breathing down their necks...

Ross crinkled his nose at the burger still in its wrapper right by the bed, the smells assaulting him and making him feel ill. But he thought to himself, 'Fuck it' and picked it up and unwrapped it, taking a bite of it anyways. Fine. If Manta wanted to put on this 'mother hen' act, then he'd play along too. Surprisingly, taking a bit of the sandwich didn't make him sick but eased that discomfort in his stomach. Manta was already seated at the foot of the bed Elle was on and eating his own burger and the room fell silent.

Feeling somewhat more revitalized after a few bites, Ross sat up a little more and cleared his throat. "So, what have you guys been up to this morning? Just watching National Geographic the whole time or was there a game of strip poker that I missed?" He laughed a little, in a good mood for the first time in several days.

Manta stopped mid-chew and glanced at Elle and looked back at Ross guiltily. He finished his bite and swallowed before responding in that deep rumbling voice. "We've got a bit of a problem, boss," he said cringing inside. "Whitemore."

Ross gave a derisive snort and took another bite of his meal. "That pissant detective? What about him?" He seemed unconcerned for the moment but from the look Manta was giving him he got a serious look on his face. "What?"

"Well, I took Elle back to the house to get more of her things," he said and Ross's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "And Whitemore was there... He questioned Elle on her porch and she got him to leave. But I don't think he's gonna leave us alone."

Ross's heart was hammering in his chest now and the sandwich in his hand was completely forgotten as he stared angrily at the other man. "You did what?" he wasn't yelling but his voice was loud and full of anger. "What the fuck? I go to sleep for a few hours and you screw everything up! See? This is why I don't..." he trailed off as his face contorted in fury for a moment. Then he turned to Elle and tossed the sandwich aside as he stood and came over to her bed quick as lightning, all grogginess and good humor gone now. "What did he ask you? What did you tell him?"

Elle had regretted telling Ross about her experience with the detective and now her lie seemed so silly she wasn't sure why she had said it in the first place. When he was on her with questions she answered them of course. She quickly explained what she had told the detective, her eyes a bit wide with fear as she spoke. She was half scared he would hit her for leaving the hotel.

"Your lucky I was able to act cooly. I was so nervous and barely able to keep myself from telling him where you were dead to the world." She had given up a lot to protect him and didn't really want to get into trouble for that. "I'm sorry I'm a terribly liar, I'm new at this criminal stuff...." She gave a sigh and moved away from him, towards Manta. She knew Ross would be pissed, but as long as he didn't take it out on her she was fine.

Listening to her recount the lie she'd told Ross scoffed and shook his head derisively. "Of course, he's gonna see through that," he said to her as if it were the most obvious thing. "All he has to do is make a few fucking phone calls and your story falls apart." Then he sighed and stood with his hands on his hips. "But I suppose it let you get away from him and that's a good thing. Although if he ever sees you again, he'll not let you out of his sights." He listened to her explanation and got angry again. "Yeah? Well, it's a good thing you didn't tell him, otherwise I'd make sure to silence you permenantly!"

"Boss," Manta said in a warning tone. Ross turned to him with a surprised look. He was gonna protect her over his best friend? "What the hell, Manta?" he asked in a disapproving tone. "You know I'm right! If she's gonna throw that threat around then she needs to know I'm not gonna sit by and let people betray me! There are consequences!" He turned back to Elle pointing his finger at her threateningly. "You better learn how to lie really good real quick, because I swear to fucking Christ you won't live a day past the moment you sell me out!"

Ross stood back and looked at them both, Manta frowning at him yet silent. Then he shook his head and put his shirt and jacket on, ignoring the two of them for a moment. "Where are my keys?" he asked, glancing at the nightstand long enough to see they weren't there.

Manta hesitated. "Where are you going?" he asked after a long pause.

Ross let out an impatient breath, scowling ion annoyance. "I'm gonna go call Marley from a pay phone, alright? We need to arrange a meeting and get new men quickly." He held out his hand, flexing his fingers restlessly, waiting for the keys to be placed there.

Manta went into his pocket and pulled them out slowly, looking a little cautious as he put them in Ross's hand. "Do you want me to come with?"

Ross, smirked angrily and shook his head, with keys in hand as he made his way to the door. "Nah, why don't you stay here with your girlfriend," he said as he turned the knob. "Maybe, you guys can cook up something else that'll almost get us caught while I'm gone." And with that he left, slamming the door behind himself.

Elle sat back up on the bed and watched Ross go on his rant then leave. She was in trouble now no doubt, but she had hoped Ross would trust her a bit more. Once he was gone she looked over at Manta, "Why did you tell him?" She said with a frown, "Now he is mad at me..." She folded her arms and sat on the bed, it was a rather pitiful pout. She felt her anger rise against Manta, if he had just kept his mouth shut she might not get into trouble.

"I'm sorry I'm bad at lying, but I was under so much pressure and I almost turned him in, but I didn't!" She laid back and closed her eyes, letting out a deep sigh. She felt a bit bad for blowing up at him, but he had made Ross get angry at her.
