It was nearly nightfall when the final boat came to port in the colorful, well decorated city of Venice. Everyone flooded off the ship ready to go to the large and lavish parties the city was known for. It was the age of decadence after all. On the very back of the ramp, which the excited visitors exited, was what appeared to be a young man, maybe in his early teens. He were a baggy white shirt with a tight buttermilk vest. He seemed too willowy and pale compared to most of the toned, sunkissed boys at that age.
That was because Amelia was no boy. For a girl she stood taller then most at 5'9" with a slender, graceful looked. She had snowy blonde hair that was pulled back into a ponytail to hid her womanly charm. Her Mother had been a french women who actually grew up in Venice while her father was a strong German man that swept her off her feet and ran away with her. Amelia was the perfect mix of the two, Strong yet pale and graceful. If she didn't dress like a boy she would've had suitors lined up to wed her. Other then her far too pretty face, Amelia managed to hid all her feminine features well. Her breasts were tightly bound with cloth so her chest was flat, her waistcoat hid the rest of her chest with it's thick fabric. She wore chocolate brown breeches and a long jacket to hid her curvy hips.
If she had been a normal girl she would have been considered one of the most lovely maidens around. If her mother hadn't died, she would have been raised as a girl. Instead her mother was murdered by a vengeful vampire when Amelia was little only a toddler. Her Father was from a well known and feared vampire hunter family, it was understandable that some of the monsters wouldn't like him very much. He didn't know how to raise a girl. He would take her and her other 6 brother off on his missions, training them to be the best vampire hunters in the land. This was her first mission alone. Her father was very reluctant to let her but she was 19 years old, already far pasted the adult age for most girls.
She also was cleaner then most, she bathed regularly, unlike most people. she had to keep her scent as faint as possible due to her hunting. Her skin had a healthy shine and was as smooth as still water. Even though she was a woman she never thought of herself with a gender, she was a vampire slayer. The hunter girl had got a messege that there was a vampire in Venice, but one of wealth and power. Likelihood it was just a false alarm, rich people tended to seem weird and almost cold blooded to normal people....but it didn't mean they really were.
Her fierce, yet powdery blue, eyes darted around looking at any buildings that a vampire would be likely to stalk. The bar was always the most likely area because intoxicated people were the easiest to target. Drunks were always willing to share what they knew about the gossip. If there was a vampire here, someone here would give her the details. She touted over to the pub a block away. People were already crowing in. This would be the perfect spot for her to learn if there was any truth to the rumor she was following.
"pardon me?" She spoke in a lower, more masculinely voice as she tapped on the shoulder of a man inside. "I'm new to town, I was wondering if you would mind me sitting here?" Even when she tried to sound like a guy she still only managed prepubescent boy. Her heart began to pump wildly in her chest. She had never gathered information by herself before, one of her brothers were always there beside her. This time she was all alone. She hoped this man would either think she was just funny or would be too drunk to notice.
