Hey there folks! I have a plot here to throw out there and see if there are any biters.
My plot is as follows.
MC was born and raised in a small town in Washington State, a dreary backwards xenophobic place where outsiders are not welcome to stay beyond the minimum amount of time before they move on.
This town is ruled with an iron fist by "the Temple of the Deep" a local cult-like order which worships inhuman creatures beneath the ocean, they offer sacrifices to "the Deep" and in exchange their fishing nets never come up empty, gold is regularly found in nearby rivers and sicknesses never get a foothold in the town.
at the age of 15, MC was attacked by a monster in the middle of the night, leaving with a giant bite mark on his back, a mark that would leave a permanent scar. He told his parents, instead of being concerned even after he showed them the bite, they just yelled at him and sent him to his bedroom, not even calling a doctor. that night MC fled, intending to never look back.
Skip ahead 10 years, MC now lives in L.A, having avoided homelessness he has landed himself a job as a boom mic operator in Hollywood. one day after returning home from a busy day's work he comes home to find his apartment broken into. Nothing has been taken, but there is an envelope on his kitchen table. inside he finds a plane ticket, $3000 and a letter from his mother. It says his father has died, and in his will he left his only son all his savings, over $50,000 but there is one condition, he must return home to claim it.
He does so where he is met by YC, who take him to the Temple of the Deep, where his mother is now the high priestess. After the meeting he only wants to get his money and go, but landslides have blocked all roads, the airstrip he landed on is mysteriously nonexistant and the plane he came in on is suddenly rusted to hell, like it's been unused for 50 years... he cannot leave, and while the town and all in it have been welcoming to him, showering him in affection and warmness, when he mentions leaving they all go cold, telling him not to, picking holes in every plan he has to leave, and in the life he lead before returning.
This town obviously has a secret, and the secret lies in the temple of the deep.
The greatest secret of this town is that once every few days, at different times, the women of the town will turn into humanoid-sharks, the purpose is to better serve the deep, but such tasks are only done by the priestesses of the temple, the rest just transform and must wait to turn back, often transforming at home and continuing on with their day like nothing has changed.
and what's more, YC has been chosen for an arranged marriage with MC, and she was the one who bit him all those years ago during her first transformation.
