Kassy Gimble stood cooking herself lunch at her brother's stove, she'd hiked up her white tee in order to catch a breeze on this smoldering hot August day. She'd been living at her brother's house for almost a week, since their parents had moved to Alaska after her father's company transferred them up there. Kassy had protested furiously, not wanting to drop out of her senior year of high school which would be starting in another month. Her parents had begrudgingly agreed after Jim, her older brother had offered the spare room in his new house.
Kassy of course had been overjoyed at the prospect, but not just because she'd be able to finish out her high school education with the friends she'd grown up with, but secretly because her older brother Jim was a total stud. He was several years older than her and already had a great job...and unfortunately a hot girlfriend to boot. Fortunately for Kass, Jen still maintained her own apartment, or otherwise she might not have been offered a place to stay in the first place.
Jennifer Brenton had met Jim in college and when he'd brought the gorgeous bombshell home to meet the family two Christmases ago both Kassy's mother and father had doted over her, so proud of the catch their son had landed. She was an up and coming model and regardless of how handsome Jim was, she was probably still 'out-of-his-league'. Something Kassy was fiercely aware of from day one.
Kassy didn't dislike Jen, in fact Jen was very nice, but after having dated her brother for a few years and still not willing to even entertain the idea of moving in with him was definitely a sign that Jen's heart might not be fully in the relationship. Kassy assumed Jen was probably just biding her time before her modeling career really took off and she could move on to bigger and better things. Kassy couldn't blame her, but at the same time she didn't want her brother's heart getting broken either.
Kassy looked up at the clock, 12:31pm, Jim would be home for lunch soon and Kassy had made enough grilled chicken for both of them. She liked making him meals, in a way she could pretend that her big brother was actually her boyfriend, and one she wouldn't ever dream of breaking his heart.
The sound of the front door opening cued her in, and Kassy briefly thought about pulling her top back down, but decided against it at the last minute, nothing wrong with a little playful teasing anyway. "HEY JIMMY, I made us lunch! Grilled chicken and a spinach salad with honey mustard vinaigrette!" Kassy exclaimed from the kitchen.
"It's not Jim Kassy, It's me Jen...I called Jim at work and we decided to have lunch together so I picked up Tai food....sorry Kass." Jen called out as she made her way into the kitchen and set the bags of takeout down on the table. "What are you doing with your top up? You'd better fix that before your brother gets home young lady!" Jen scolded.
"Don't talk to me like your my mother...I'm hot and I wanna feel the breeze!" Kassy shot back, angrily stirring the chicken in the pan.
"I'm not trying to be your mom, but in my defense if she saw you parading yourself around like a tramp she'd be pretty upset." Jen returned fire.
Suddenly the sound of the front door sounded again, and this time it was Jim. "Welcome Home!" Both the girls said in unison.
