Deep within the dense forests just halve a day south of the small town of Kadash were the ruins of what must have been a once thriving village located near a mountain. Nothing was remarkable about it, the village lost for several decades and most of the forest had grown after the village died, growing on the fertile soil of what had been farms. Back in the days, the village had thrived thanks to extensive mines until less and lesser ores were brought out from within the mountain. Without the riches from within the earth people had left and the location forgotten to mankind, only rumors remained nowadays and every now and then an adventurer found his or her way in hopes to find some riches.
Today a young human had found her way, clad in light but form fitting metal and leather, protecting the most critical regions, leaving her a lot of mobility. The name of the brown haired young woman, who was checking her equipment after a good nights rest, was Sayady. She had scavenged through what had been left of the village the day before, only finding a few pieces of copper and other nothings that were not even worth the expenses for food to reach this place and was now ready to go explore what was left unchecked, the mines of Kadash.
The young woman shouldered her backpack with all her essentials and checked both her blades a last time before stepping into the mines. Sayady had been trained by her mother who always had preferred a fast style of fighting with few pieces of armor and most importantly a short sword in her right hand and a dagger in her left. Around her head she had fastened a band not unlike a bandana but with 2 gems worked into the fabric which were placed precisely above her eyes. The whole band was infused with a simple magic, giving the slightly green tinted gems the ability to allow even humans to see in the dark and thus giving her even after entering the mines the ability to use both her hands for her weapons if need be.
What the young human found made her stop in her tracks though. At first the mines had been what she expected of mines dug by humans. Rough stone and beams of wood in more or less good shape but still holding. After a few corners including dead ends though, she was standing in a small chamber made of something that looked like limestone to her, decorated with murals depicting foxes, and in front of the brown haired girl a doorway leading deeper into whatever she had stumbled upon. There were no traces of life she could identify and the tunnels definitely were going further into the deeps of the mountain. "By the goddess ... this ... I guess I have a good hunch why no one ever returned." Sayady mumbled to herself while she began walking deeper into the mountain.
