"Make way for the royalty, you heathens!"
A group of knights were moving their way through a crowd that was surrounding the large castle doors of the royal family. There was to be an announcement, one that was to be heard by all those that lived within the castle walls. The news had spread quickly, and the masses had already formed. The royal family were mostly beloved, and the lower class were more than happy to hear what they had to say.
The knights, however, were less than loved. They were known to abuse their power and take advantage of the kindness of the family. It was no surprise that they were being physical with the crowd, pushing back men and women alike. They were cruel, eager to show their strength and dominance, even if it was only over the weaker.
"Move, now!"
As the knights cleared a path through the crowd, their commander stood and observed. Vincent was unlike the others, and was disgusted by their behavior. He was the most experienced of them, having been a warrior for the king since he was young. He had quickly risen the ranks and taken the title of commander, much to the chagrin of the others.
The king did not believe that Vincent had the proper qualities of a man. He was more than talented, but he lacked the hunger of a "real" knight. What the king saw as hunger, Vincent saw as cruelty or arrogance. Still, they had yet to physically assault anyone who had not physically provoked them, which left Vincent largely powerless. All he could do was watch and wait for the royal court to make their way out.
