The idea: This would either be our own take on the Once Upon a time universe or a story we wish to fit into it, keeping it more canon. Either way, the idea is to have a story ark using characters from Halloween town in Disneys A Nightmare Before Christmas.

(Note, in this the roles are sort of reversed. Instead of Jack being a man of authority and renown. He is of humble origins, a peasant. And his Sally, was a princess. This is to make a more original story, taking some key's from Nightmare before Christmas but mainly utilizing the characters from the movie in unique and interesting ways, befitting the world of Once upon a time. Also it's a simple synopsis so, forgive the corniness. It's unavoidable when writing it as a fairy tale . :p Any way nothings concrete, and everything is open for change. Especially since I wrote it down within a half hour. >_< Lol.)

Once Upon A Time,

In a dark lonesome villiage far off in the corner of the enchanted forest. Lived a man with a simple life, a pumpkin farmer named Jack. He was a hard worker, tending his farm. But though he had security in his life, he had a longing, an emptiness in his bones. Year by year, the man was plagued by a feeling of unfulfilled dreams. Never to truly know why he felt so empty.

But it was not till one fatefull morn he discovered what he needed all along. One day, while taking his years harvest to his humble town, there was a bustling crowd. Jack payed little mind as to why, but that was the best mistake he had made in his life. From the top of his barrol, a pumpkin tumbled down, cracking against the dirt road. It spread about, leaving pulp here and there, but also upon the bottom of a beautiful dress. Looking up, it was a women of high wealth, and by the crown upon her head he knew she was a princess. She was in fact a princess traveling with her father and her betrothed during their hunting trip. Jack was a courageous sort, even among village folk, but even he was mortified. Even more so, as the men accompanying her were ready to slay him where he stood. They forced him to kneel, to apologize for something that was rotten luck, and not his fault. But, the princess stopped them. Shaming her father and betrothed in a bold fashion that seemed unlike her, surprising the two men even. And further, apologized to Jack for the brash actions of her father and her prince. Humbled, Jack looked up at her once more. And with a sudden thump in his heart, he knew this was why his life felt so empty. He needed love. "I know I am not worthy of such kindness... A farmer shouldn't be." He began to say, as not to anger the royal men further. But the women insisted that he was fine, that her father and her prince were the ones at fault. "What is your name?" He asked. And with a sweet smile, the shy and kind princess gladly replied. "Sally." He watched as the left, the meek princess looking back shyly as she hurried to follow the two men back to their carriage.

A year passes, and it felt like decades. Jack, longed for the princess. But he knew she was betrothed to another. To be married in a few months time now that she finally came of age. His feelings were no secret, his town easily ready to toy with him on the matter. Telling him, he would have to be a king to get the likes of her! To which he would reply, "Then perhaps a king I will be." With a rebuttal like that, it was not to long before people mocked him fully. Proclaiming him "Jack, The king of the pumpkin patch."

He needed to get close to her. He knew he couldn't simply be royalty like it was magic, but he knew there was one man whom for a price.... Can give any one their truest desire. Rumplestilskin. He heard out Jack, and reluctantly he agreed to helping. But, only if Rumplestilskin can have ANYTHING he had asked for. He wouldnt say when and he wouldnt say where, he would only ask for it when he required it and expected no less then to immediately receive it. Jack agreed. Within a short period of time, Rumple's plan hatched into full effect. Her kingdom went through a shortage of food. From hunting to fishing and especially with crop's, no land capable of growing. Except for Jack's. Not only did his patch grow, but it became a bountiful harvest. With the kingdom in strife and hunger, Jack took up the mantle of charitable hero. Giving his near limitless harvest freely to the king and his people. And, though many would be sick of pumpkin for many years, many did not go hungry. Almost as if by... 'Magic.'

Jack had received an audience with the king, becoming his special guest for as long as he wanted to stay. Rewarded by his charity with the audience of royalty. Though there was only one he cared to see. Princess Salley. He stayed there for a month, getting close with Salley and her father. Often using his meek and sly frame to his advantage, sneaking about the castle to often gaze upon her from afar. Doing so however, revealed to him a number of things he never knew. That she was a wonderful singer when alone, no longer crippled by how shy she was. But more importantly, as he observed her sing, he began to learn she had a fondness for someone beyond her betrothed. A man she met a year ago... Him. He came to her one evening as she singed, professing his own feelings. Telling her the simple farm boy had grown from humbled by her kindness, to loving her. That he had not done so sooner because he feared her reaction and was to honorable a man to try and steal someones heart from another. Gifting her with a necklace locket, one which belonged to his mother, he hoped she would agree to be his wife instead. And though at first, it was a shock, She agreed. Reciprocating his love in full.

Being a honest, and kind girl. She chose to confront her betrothed personally. But, she was to confident in his honor, or his understanding. The man was prideful, and in spite, he attacked Sally. Chocking her against the ground. Jack stood witness from afar, leaping into action to defend her. But after the ruckus, and after guards intervened. It became clear, that with the fog of battle gone, Sally had perished. The prince shocked at what he had done, quickly pointed the finger at Jack.

It was so fast, he didn't think of defending his honor. Jack had worried about prison, for a crime he had not committed. He quickly tore Sally's locket from her neck, to be a memento of the women he loved and ran. For days he was on the run, making his way to his old home. Back to his pumpkin patch. As much as Jack wanted to avenge Sally, there was nothing he can do. For now at least. Courage he may have had, and luck was known to be on his side when danger arose. But a fighter he was not.

As he packed his bags, a rather pleased Rumplestilskin appeared. Ready to call in the price for his favor. Even if everything Jack had earned was going to be gone forever. Rumple, demanded the Locket. Rumple had for some time been trying to discover how to entrap the magic of true love. The locket, being the next attempt at acomplishing such a task. It transcended two women's hearts, the love of a mother, and True Love. But Jack refused.... It was all he had left of Sally now. All he could take. He chose not to pay Rumplestilskin, a mistake all whom commit it soon regret. Jack was no exception to this rule.... Rumple took the locket any way. And cursed Jack. Soon, a chill cold filled his bones, warmth escaped his breath, and pain echoed in his aching heart. Rumple made things clear. "No one, ever walks out of my deals intact Dearie. Nobody.... But for you I will make a small exception. He he he he. You see, you remind me a bit of. hmmm. Me! Before I became the Dark one of coarse. Sad, pathetic, Looonely. A simple peasant, with no meaning. Except, a bit more gusto then me, I was the villiage coward you see. Never the less, because you remind me of the old me, I wont kill you. Yes.... I hate being reminded of the 'old' me. So no, you wont die a horrible death. Things will be far, far worse then Death. You will never die. Now, and forever more, you will live. A long life, with the end forever in your grasp. Never to truly find your Sally in the next life. Now, don't confuse this as being immortal... Because it's not! It's simply undeath. You will be dead, but alive, until the flesh falls from your bones and even when your bones turn to dust......... Shoulda gave me the locket Dearie."

Rumple then left, and soon Jack was captured by his pursuers. The prince, soldiers among him had taken Jack to the center of his patch. Jack writhing in pain, as they strung him in place of his scarecrow. With little hesitation, the prince had his men raise the fields, setting it ablaze. Jack within.

By morning, all that remained was a skeleton. But, his soul still clung to his cursed bones. Slowly, he became animated. Rising from the ashes of his home a new man. Nothing of him was left, say for a cold, cursed heart. And so began his reign of terror. Jack, the pumpkin king. Seeking to reunite himself with his Salley, the only way he now could... To bring her back.

This Rp will take place in the town of Storybrook after a new villian, by the name of Jack has entered the picture. His intentions are not clear, however he has an extreme interest in a girl that no one in the town would have expected had any importance. (I was thinking since Salley can sow, she would be a tailor within the town, or a Doll maker perhaps?) Because of the curse and somehow being undead, she has no memory of her past life. Even now, far after the curse had been lifted over the story book characters. Throughout the rp, as Jack menaces interacts and even in a few occasions helps the main protagonists in the town, he will try to get close to Salley and remind her of who she was, who he became and the lengths he went to return her to life. Through out the rp I will also provide flashbacks referring to experiences with Rumple, His past with the Boogie man, How Jack has become a sorcerer and is so familiar with magic. (As in the rp, he will be adept at magic, namely necromancy.) ETC.
