I am sure you probably figure based on the title of the thread that I am craving a good old fashioned pulp adventure.
A story with dashing heros, dangerous villians and a healthy dose of the supernatural.
Don't know what pulp adventures are? Just think Indiana Jones or The Mummy movies (the Brendon Fraiser ones. Not the hot mess with Tom Cruise) or to a lesser extent Uncharted or the early Tomb Raider games.
I'm very much wanting to make this a period setting in the 30's or 40's. Alternatively I'd also be down for playing in an alternative Disel Punk inspire timeline. Sky Pirates and dog fights anyone?
Below are a couple story hooks I've had on the back burner but I am also more than willing to hear other ideas and work something out from scratch. So kick me a PM and let's start adventuring!
The Mercenary and the Lord's Daughter
It was supposed to be a simple trip to Shanghai to meet with her father's business contacts and secure some old contracts. Instead, the family air ship ended up attacked by pirates and she was taken prisoner, held in their fortress to be ransomed off to her father for some absurd amount of money. As it turns out, her father only valued her safety up to a certain dollar value and instead of paying the money he instead paid a brutish American mercenary to rescue her from the clutches of her captors. But the harrowing escape from the island stronghold was merely the beginning of a much bigger adventure as the unlikely pair soon find themselves pursued by pirates, mobsters and mad cultists wanting to sacrifice her to their dark god.
Why did she ever leave England?
The Lost Empire
An intrepid reporter looking to prove herself to her editor. A charming treasure hunter in search of fortune and glory. A sinister cult concealing secrets long forgotten and the might of the Nazi war machine modeling in search of an ancient power that could give them full domination of the world.
The unlikely pair of heros will travel the globe looking to unravel the mystery behind some of the greatest lost cities in history and discover not only their fate, but the threads that connected them.
