"Punch bowl, cups, food, banner... is the music hooked up?" A hyperventilating girl asked, as she continued to flip through the list in her hands. "Calm down Alex" her best friend Talia replied. "Jackson is coming over after lunch to connect up the speakers. Relax ok, everything's going to be fine." The dark haired girl said with a smile. "It needs to be better than fine, this is our graduation! We did it! We finally made it and this party might be the last time we all get to see each before college." Alex replied, a somewhat sad expression momentarily descended upon her face. "I want it to be perfect! I want everyone to remember how Alex Meyers threw the best graduation party ever!" The sad expression was soon replaced by a wide grin at the thought of herself sticking in people's memories like that.
Talia couldn't help but smile and shake her head, her best friend was a character alright. Alex was a super popular fashionista, who also wore the crown of homecoming queen and if there was one thing that she would being doing; it was leaving high school in style! Talia herself was a little more reserved, dedicated to her studies and ended up graduating as class valedictorian. The Polynesian teenager had been friends with Alex since they were about twelve. Six years down the line and the two were practically inseparable, so who else was going to arrive ridiculously early this morning to help organize tonight's graduation party? Luckily it wasn't just the two of them though, all hands were on deck to make tonight a roaring success.
As Talia and Alex sat in Alex's kitchen, more teenagers entered through the door. "Hey, where do you want this chocolate fountain?" A male voice called. "In the dining room!" Alex called back. "What about the ingredients for the punch?" Another asked with a wicked grin, as he carried several unidentified bottles in his arms. "Just in here and they better all be virgin mixers!" Alex added with a strict finger. "Why? I thought your dad was gone for the night?" The boy added looking hopeful. "No, but don't worry; he's being cool and promises to stay in the annex all night." Alex nodded back towards the front door, which opened up onto a large circular driveway. To the left of the driveway were the garages and a little further down on the right was a smaller building, the guest house/annex.
Talia's black, orb like eyes glanced towards the kitchen window for a moment. If the truth be known, she found Mr. Meyers quite attractive. Not that she'd ever tell Alex that of course. "That's cool, anyway it's not like I'd be carrying booze around underage in broad daylight." The male added, dropping the bottles down next to Talia. "Those bottles are arriving later." He added with a mischievous whisper and a wink, before running back out to continue helping with the preparations. Alex watched him suspiciously as he left. "Everyone's going to end up drunk tonight aren't they?" She asked Talia. "What? With Zack in charge of the punch? No... no..." The brunette looked towards her friend. "Yeah, probably" she confessed, before patting Alex playfully on the arm and venturing towards the front entrance herself.
Everyone was busy loading and unloading vehicles that had supplies in, as well as rearranging the furniture here and there to make more room to dance and help avoid accidents. Talia stepped outside and onto the drive, walking towards Zack's car. "Need any help?" She asked. "Sure!" Zack replied in a chipper tone. Talia held out her arms and he began to stack items onto them for her to carry. Whilst she waited, she glanced down the drive and towards the annex, which stood about fifty feet away from the main house. She couldn't help but wonder what Mr. Meyers was up to right now.
