The sound of the screeching tires...the crushing metal, the scared expression on a long forgotten face. It was so long ago but still Summer woke in the grey dawn of morning, nearly screaming and covered in sweat. She thought that after 15 years the nightmares of that night so long ago would go away, but still it hadn't.

She sat on her bed looking out the window as things went through her mind, trying to calm herself back down. She got out of bed as her service robot brought in her breakfast and put it on her night stand. She lived alone now, if you didn't count the robot, in an apartment above a tattoo parlor behind a neon sign that read 'Ink This'. She lived there for 10 years now, two on her own after her father's death. She ran the business below, a lonely though exciting life of treating others' bodies as canvases.

She ate and headed down the stairs to open up shop. She sat behind the large oak desk in the swivel chair, watching the sun rise over the towering mixture of metal and brick buildings that made up the city now. There had been so many changes.

The sound of metal crashing was the last thing Jacob heard when he was driving along a dark road. His body was hit by a drunk driver, of course he turned the car around so he would recieve all the hit and not his girlfriend. For the duration of ten years he was trapped inside his own body, he was a prisoner wanting and trying to get out but not archieving anything. His life was good, he had a good girlfriend a good school and perfect life. His prayers finally were answered as one morning he opened his eyes for the first time in ten years.

At the moment the doctor was on the room checking on him, he was confused. He looked around only not to see his girlfriend around, did she made it?. The doctor asked question after question and Jacob did his best to answer them although sometimes it was difficult.

The doctor was surprised that he woke up, he had been nearly dead a couple of times during his period of coma. The doctor picked up his cellphone and dialed the number of Jacob's girlfriend. Waiting on her he took a deep sigh, "This is doctor Jonathan, there has been a change in the condition of Jacob, come here ASAP", with that he hanged up not wanting to give a explination to her. He went about his duties leaving Jacob in the hands of the nurses.

Summer picked up the phone and listened with her eyes wide and her mouth agape. It had been so long since she had heard anything, she stopped going to see him many years ago, letting go and living with the heartache. She nearly dropped her phone as she doctor hung up. "Wadsworth, run the store while I'm gone," she shouted and grabbed her coat and keys rushing out the door, nearly in tears.

She arrived at the hospital and was escorted to the room.

Jacob looked around, things seemed so different now than ten years ago. He looked around and grabbed the remote control of the T.V. set. He turned it on the news and looked at the date, "Ten years.... I was out of it for ten years..." his hearth felt like it was going to break apart. He sighed and shook his head, it was nearly impossible that he was awake it was so confusing. He sighed and turned off the T.v. set, he sighed as he closed his eyes, he had grown, but he did not felt his legs, maybe they were numb.

A nurse brought Summer to the doctor. "What's happened, what's going on?" she asked. She clutched the locket she still wore around her neck that had rusted shut over the years. "What's happened to Jacob?" She looked ready to cry, her hair all messed up and eyes red.
