Dustin stood several feet away from the group by the graves, his eyes on his young brother, he had sat at the front of the church during the service but was allowing him room now. He sighs softly and thanks another person for coming as they leave, he hadn't really bin close with his parents in the last few years, and he regrets now that he wouldn't get the chance. He really felt sorry for him younger brother, he was sensitive boy and they way his parents had gone, he was really hurting. As the crowd started to thin out more, he slowly makes his way to to Noel and rests a hand on his shoulder, squeezing lightly. "Come on kiddo... Its getting cold out..." He wasn't really sure what to say to him at the moment "It's been a hard day... And you need some sleep..."

Noel wiped the tears from his face as he stood there, looking around at everyone that had come to the funeral. He gave small nods as people gave their condolences and well wishes before leaving, not meeting any single gaze from anybody. He kept his gaze cast down to the ground, wishing it would rain to mask his tears. At least he was silent. When everyone had left except for his brother and himself, he felt his brother's hand on his shoulder and nodded, letting out a shaky sigh and a final, silent goodbye to their mother and father before turning and going to his brothers car. He wiped his face again and wished that he would stop crying soon. He was growing tired, emotionally and physically, just wanting to be in his bed, curled up with his blankets and pillows and his kitten for a few days.

Dustin follows him, his hand lightly resting in his back until the reach the car, he looks down at him and squeezed lightly to get his attention. "I know it's bin a hard week... And I can see the toll it's taking in you..." He opens the car and let's them in, he looks at him again from the drivers seat before starting the car. "I'm taking you to my place for a while... We'll stop at the house to get your things... There's no fighting this Noel, you can't be left alone yet... I may not have been there much... But I still know you..." He starts up the car and slowly leaves the cemetery. He'd take Noel to his place for a few weeks while they sorted things out and Noel got used to the idea of their parents being gone.

Noel said nothing as he got in the car, even after Dustin spoke to him. He gave a shrug of his shoulders, not really wanting to speak about this past week. He missed their parents, probably more than anybody else. He didn't want to stay at Dustin's house, not really having been there in a while, only wanting to be at his parents house, even if he would have been there alone. At least he got to go get his things.

When they did get to their parents house, he went inside and up to his bedroom, his kitten laying on his pillows. He packed up two bags of clothes, shoes, and other things he would need as well as cat toys, cat food and the bowls for the kitten's water and food and carefully picked up his kitten and one of his pillows as well as a blanket his parents had special made for him before going back to the car and putting his bags in the back seat as well as his pillow. He got in the passenger side and buckled up, sighing as he held his kitten in his arms and kept the blanket with him.

Dustin waits in the car as Noel goes to get his things, he knew his brother would want to stay here, but he also knew Noel wouldn't do well alone right now. He turns to him as he gets back in, he noticed the kitten and smiles "And who's this..." He reaches over and lightly pets the small cat, scratching it softly, he then looks back to Noel, he gently tips his chin up. "Hey... I know this has bin hard... And it will continue to be hard for some time..." He gently rubs his cheek "But it will get better... We may have fought... But I still loved them... And will miss them..." He wipes at a stray tear "And don't be afraid to cry... Or to come and talk with me..." His brother way very emotional and he wouldn't push him too hard, but he wanted to help him get past this horrible time.

After they left the house, Dustin headed bac to his own home, he didn't live too far away, only about thirty minutes by car. He parks and gets out, he gets Noel's bags and leads them inside, he sets the back at the bottoms of the stairs and turns to his brother. "Alright... I know you haven't been eating properly... And I don't blame you... But it stops today, they wouldn't want you hurting yourself... Let's get you into your room, then I'll make dinner... Does stew sound good?" He picks the bags back up and heads upstairs, expecting Noel to follow him, he give him the room next his own.

Noel watched as Dustin pet his kitten. "Her name is Jade..." he told his brother. Jade mewled and purred as she watched the two brothers, curling up in Noel's arms. Noel looked to his brother and gave a small nod before looking out the window and thinking about their parents and how different things would be now that they were gone. He wondered if he would have to live with Dustin from now on or if he would be able to get his own place but, he would ask about that later.

When they got to Dustin's place, he got out and followed the other inside, looking around. A faint blush crossed his cheeks at the mention of him not having been eating properly and he said nothing. It wasn't that he didn't want to eat, he just didn't have an appetite all the time. "Stew is fine..." he said as he followed up to where his room would be. He walked inside and set Jade down on the bed, watching her as she instantly laid down and closed her eyes, clearly comfortable. Noel set his blanket down before taking his bags and unpacking his things before he sat on the bed and pet Jade.

Dustin stands in the doorway a few moments, watching him "Make yourself comfortable... I'll be in the kitchen if you need me... The bathroom is just across the hall..." He looked to the kitten and smiles "She has the right idea... Try to rest and I'll get you for food..." He leaves the doorway and heads back downstairs, entering the kitchen and pulling out what he'd need from the cupboards and fridge. He then opens a small book on a stand by the stove, he sighs softly "Never thought I'd be making this again..." He looks up "I know we didn't see eye to eye anymore... But I still loved you... And I'll do my best to take care of Noel..." He looks back to his work, one of the few things his mother gave him when he left, all her recipes, neatly written out.

About an hour later, Dustin had finished chopping everything and fried the meat, he was adding everything together now. He adds his mother's spices and the water to the pot, setting it to high and leaving it to boil. He heads to his wine cooler and looks over what he has, pulling a bottle and setting it on ice for later. He heads back up to check on his brother "Noel... How are you doing..." He knocks lightly on the door.

Noel gave a nod and sighed as Dustin left the room. He shifted on the bed and wrapped his blanket around himself before laying next to Jade and kissing her head, smiling as she purred and nuzzled him. Jade had been a gift from his parents for Christmas and he was so happy to have her, always taking care of her and making sure she was safe. His parents didn't give him a lot of gifts, only giving him things that he would be able to use and keep for years so, it meant a lot to him to have a kitten now from them.

An hour passed and Noel had fallen asleep, curled up and Jade curled up beside him. When Dustin came back, Noel didn't stir, snoring softly. Jade looked up at Dustin and mewled but didn't move from her spot. Noel was a fairly heavy sleeper, especially when he was exhausted emotionally and physically and, the nap was much needed.

Dustin smiles softly as he opens the door after he got no answer, he slowly steps up to the bed and pets Jade. "So... He's finally fallen asleep... Did you help with that..." He smiles again and looks over his brother, he looked so small, curled up like he was, he sighs softly and runs his fingers through his hair. "You never should have taken that call... I'm sorry Noel... I should have been there..." He leans down and kisses his forehead, he'd let him sleep until dinner was ready, he stood and left the room again. He heads to his room to change out of his formal clothes, he pulls on a pair of sweets and a tank top before going to check the food.

Noel slept for about an hour, waking up and yawning as he slowly sat up and looked around. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, remembering where he was and reached to pet Jade who was still laying beside him. "I guess this is going to be our home for a while..." he said to the feline, earning a soft mewl from her. He shrugged and got up, going to his clothes and changing into a pair of lounge pants and a t-shirt. He put the clothes he had worn to the funeral aside, debating on what to do with them but, his thoughts were pushed aside when his stomach growled and he blushed, making his way to the kitchen.

Dustin was just dishing out the stew when Noel walked in, he smiles softly "I was just gonna come wake you... Did you sleep ok?" He picks up the bowls and heads to the table, setting them down, he moves to get his glass and wine. "What would you like to drink... I know you don't like alcohol... Or has that changed?" He sets his glass down and opens the bottle, filling his glass and setting the bottle down, ready to go and get Noel something else.

Noel looked at the pot of stew then to Dustin. "I slept ok..." he said as he went to go sit at the table. He frowned at the mention of wine and shook his head, looking at the bowl in front of him. "If you have soda or juice, I'll take that instead..." he murmured, staring at the bowl of stew. Sure, he was hungry but, he didn't want to eat. He also knew his brother would probably be upset if he didn't eat so, he decided to simply force himself. It didn't taste bad so, it wasn't a huge issue.

"Juice it is then... Go on, eat up... I know it's not the same as mom's... But it is her recipe... And I did my best..." He soon returned from the kitchen with a glass of juice and set it down by him, then returns to his seat and takes it. "Well... How is it?" He stirs his and soon tries it himself "Mm... I don't think I did too bad... I wasn't sure if you'd want any... But I put some pie to warm in the oven..." He tried to keep a light conversation during dinner, but Noel still seemed so lost.

After dinner, Dustin cleared the table and set the dishes into the sink for later, then heads back to the table. "Ok... Will you join me in the living room... I'd like to talk with you..." He rubs his back softly before heading into the living room, he starts a fire and pulls out a large album. He waits for Noel and pats the seat next to him, he smiles softly "I took this from the house... I'd like to go through it... And see what I've missed over the last few years..." He takes his hand and squeezes it "I'm sorry I wasn't there..."

Noel ate his food, enjoying it a little more knowing it was his mothers recipe, even though it wasn't his mother who had made it. "It's good..." he said softly, not looking up from his bowl. He felt as if he let his gaze meet his brothers at any point, he would break down and he really didn't want to. Not again. He pushed the thoughts from his head and finished his food, helping Dustin to clear the table once they had finished. He drank his juice and nodded at his brothers request to join him in the living room, setting his glass in the sink before following.

He sat on the couch and looked to the fire, shivering slightly at the slight change in temperature in the room. He folded his hands in his lap and looked to Dustin then the album. "I don't... I don't want to look at it.." he said, pulling his hand away and looking down at his lap. He didn't want to seem so selfish but, right now, it would be too much for him to handle.

Dustin sighs softly and sets the book on the nearby table, he turns to Noel slightly and gives the boy a look over. "Noel... You haven't looked at me for more then a few seconds all day... You've barely spoken to me... And I can completely understand why... But bottling it up and hiding it away... Won't help any... And when I said my goodbyes... I promised them I'd take care of you... I intend to keep that promise..." He gently sets Jade on the couch and pulls Noel into his lap, he was small for his age, he wraps his arms around him slowly and hugs him close. "I miss them too... You don't have to hide it from me..."

Noel didn't fight his brother when he pulled him onto his lap. He closed his eyes and shook his head, balling his hands into fists as he fought the urge to cry but, it wasn't any use. He hid his face in his brother's shoulder and began to cry. "Why...why did they have to die...?" he asked, sniffling and gripping onto Dustin's shirt tightly. He felt weak and hated for anyone to see him this way, thinking that Dustin thought he was weak.

Dustin holds him tighter and runs a hand up into his hair "I don't know... But I'm positive they didn't want to leave you yet..." He rubs his back and tries to calm him down "But no more hiding this... You'll never heal if you don't grieve..." He pulls him back slightly and cups his cheek, rubbing his tears and smiles softly "I wasn't before... But I'm going to be there for you now... Whatever you need... Even if it's just to cry in my lap... Ok?" He wipes his tears again, his brother was a very beautiful young man and his tears just showed how young he still was. He leans closer and softly kisses his forehead, then pulls him into another hug, rubbing his back if he cries again.

Noel just nodded, feeling just the slightest bit better. Right now, all he wanted to do was be held and comforted by Dustin, even if it wasn't a huge deal to most, it felt nice to him and it was what he needed. He didn't want to feel alone anymore, especially now that their parents were gone. He was scared that he would have had to grieve on his own but, he was lucky to have Dustin there. "Thank you..." he said softly, sniffling.

"You're welcome... You're my little brother... And I love you... I'm grieving too, in my own way... But I'm here for you now..." He slowly runs his fingers through his hair "I'm off work for a few days... Then I'm switching to working from home for a while..." He tips his chin up slightly and rubs his cheek again "We have more to talk about reguarding mom and dads things... Their house..." He looks around his living room "I wouldn't be opposed to moving there... If that's what you wanted, it's not that far away..." He watches him, looking him over slowly, he looked almost lost.

"I...I love you too.." Noel said softly, his cheeks heating up slightly. He wasn't used to his brother being so affectionate with him but, that was mostly due to the fact that the older male wasn't around. He thought about what his brother said about moving back into their parents house and chewed his lip. All of the memories there would cause him to feel down for a while but, he missed it there. "Not...not now...but I do want to go back." he said, looking at Dustin.

Dustin smiles and rubs his back softly "Of course not right away... I'm not really ready to go back there just yet myself..." He sighs softly and pulls the boy close again "We both have grieving to do and things to get used to..." He looks to the fire while he holds Noel softly, keeping him close was helping relax himself "I really regret not working out our problems... I thought I'd have longer..." He sighs again and relaxes back against the couch, still holding his brother close.

Noel began to feel more relaxed with each passing moment and nodded, enjoying the closeness between the two of them. "They missed you a lot..." he said after a moment of silence once Dustin finished speaking, closing his eyes and sighing. He wasn't sure what else to say and just sat there, silent. He opened his eyes and looked to the fire, part of him wondering how things ended up this way. He wondered if he could have stopped any of it and, those thoughts alone caused a tear to fall down his cheek which he quickly wiped away.

He smiles slightly "I missed them too... I just... Didn't know how to... Talk with them..." He sighs again and tries to relax, but looks down as Noel wipes at his face "Hey... I know where your head is leading you... I've thought it myself... There is nothing you could have done... This was an accident... The only one who could have changed this is the other driver..." He sits back up slightly again and has Noel look at him "The what ifs can go on forever Noel... And it will never change the outcome..." He cups his cheek again "No matter how much we want it to..." He leans closer and rests their foreheads together "Its hard I know... But can you promise me... That you won't blame yourself anymore... Please..." He stares at him gently, he couldn't help the thought that ran through his mind, his brother was beautiful, he only wanted to make him happy again.
