A time for war long passed...

It was a period of a twenty year war; no one even could remember what it was about, each day was a fight for survival. A decaying Earth threatened by invaders of another world. A supposed group of Zion sympathizers determined to recreate the Principality of Zion.

With no budging of either side it was believed that both sides would wipe each other out, remains of countless battles littered the planet and the orbit around it. The fighting eventually was stopped, but not in a peaceful way.

There came a third party into the mix, naming themselves the Empire of Xios. They were bigger, superior and with the intend to enslave every living thing in existence. Everything they could throw at Xios had no chance. They had super machines capable of shattering even the biggest space colony.

There was no choice but to give up Earth; the New Zion forces decided to give up arms against Earth and helped the escape. Not many would survive the onslaught of Xios. Approximately 67% of Earth's population fell to this new threat.

Those who did survive constructed a new home, on a distant planet formed under the NFA (New Federation Alliance) which was formed between Earth and Zion, and quite a few others who were tormented by the Empire. Determined to strike back, but as they were the Gundams were no match for Xios and its terrible machines.

So an idea was formed, all the power of a Gundam in a much smaller frame, agility was key. Dexterity and power would be balanced, one such scientist figured out how this was possible; using the human body. Dr Norma Cross invented a way to channel all that might of a gundam, but they needed a suitable body. They began testing military personnel, but the men couldn't fully use the attachments, they would need a slimmer more agile body.

That was when it came across her mind, females were smaller framed than men their bodies weren't weighed down by muscle mass, and so the idea to introduce girls as Gundams began...

It started by a prototype, the girls were able to transform into the Gundam by a piece of jewelry that encased its power. However the earlier versions caused what was known as Gundarium poisoning, the alloy that was used as the armor plating. This was not fatal, but it did cause some unsightly side effects. Some girls would grow more aggressive; some wouldn't even bother to eat.

Eventually an immune vaccine was developed to help them not be effected by the allow attached in their armor.

Once everything was fully prepared and ready, these girls would attend a military school to prepare them for the battles ahead..

Marin walked the halls of the academy; it was only her second day of attending. Though she had no prior military experience; Marin only recently was able to walk around outside of the Gundam lab. This colony was like a huge glass dome with a projection of the sky, it had everything she could think of back on Earth.

But she knew it was artificial, none of this was the same. She held the necklace that wrapped around her neck. The sapphire jewel housed the power of one of the giant Gundams. It was still just kicking in, and at the moment she was told to head over to the combat training hall, but she didn't know where that was..

Keira sighed softly. She looked at the small bracelet that hung on her wrist. A small skull dangled from the end of the chain. It wasn't really her style, but the Crossbone called for this. A small smile touched her lips as she looked to the simulated sky. She could see the opposite end of the city past the clouds. A wonder she was sure Earth didn't offer.

She sat by the treeline next to the main lab. Sure she needed to get to the battle hall, but there was no rush to this. Her eyes took note of another young girl exiting the lab. She held a necklace. Was she a Gundam too? She looked... Lost... She cast her a glance, but turned to lean against the tree. She didn't want to involve herself with anyone. Not after just getting started.

Elizabeth hummed to herself as she walked through the halls of the lab, happy as happy could be. It had just been a routine check up that she was here for, nothing too serious. A glance to the bracelet on her wrist provided her with the sight of the important object, a small pink nodule hanging from it to indicate which Gundam it was. Specifically, the Qubeley Mk II, not the most advanced of all mobile suits, but still one that was impressive nonetheless.

She had to wonder why she had gotten that Gundam though. Did it mean she was a Newtype? Now there was a thought. Who could forget them, bravely fighting in space and resisting those enemies who had appeared to drive them away from their homes, the reason for this project in the first place. It was the Newtypes who had proven most capable, and to think that she might be one, it practically made her giddy in anticipation.

"Today is going to be a good day," she said to herself with a smile as she passed by some guy in a lab robe, not caring who he was. Now that she had finished her examination she didn't have to care, and fully planned on doing something fun while she had the chance. As any Spacenoid could tell you, the day was precious. You couldn't just waste it, and she didn't plan to.

Marina only ha to look up to see two other girls, she wasn't sure which one would be willing to help her though. The one against the tree seemed a little unapproachable, yet she still wanted to make a friend at least. She did wave at Elizabeth though maybe the three of them could find out where the training hall was. Seeing as today all of the gundam girls were told to be there.

She had not even tried out her powers yet, but she has a burning desire to unleash this energy that was bubbling up inside her. "Hello..?" she asked Keira after walking over to her, hoping Eliza would join them.

Lily was in the shower, despite having the water to an inch below boiling she couldn't help but feel the cruel cold energy inside of her. For such aggression it felt more like a whisper...like a shadow was looming over her and tempting her just to let go and become her Gundam hybrid. She could feel herself just wanting to activate the power within her, when she was just about to she stopped and took a deep breath. Lily was able to surpress this for now, so she got out of the shower and changed...perhaps go and see who these other girls were who she'd seen hanging around recently.

She changed into her rather uniform like outfit and walked down into centre of the academy, even though the sky was artificial...it was beautiful to look at with the soothing blue and the little cotton candy puffs of clouds. Least the trees here were real...or at least she hoped they were. Her anklet made a metallic clink as she walked, staring up at the sky and letting the haunting beast within her quell so she could actually enjoy the moment.

Please don't look this way... She did. Please don't come over here... Marina approached. Please don't say anything... Damnit... The purple-haired teen cast a glance at the apparently new Gundam. "Ummm Hi?" She spoke softly and coldly. Her eyes caught sight of another girl about their age. She didn't look to be a nurse or any of the staff. Another Gundam?

There was a few moments of silence before Keira spoke up once more. "Do you... Need something?" She didn't mean to sound as cold as she did. It was just that her and people don't mix very well. Nervously, she messed with the skull pendant on her bracelet. She could almost feel the energy of the X1 emanating from it. She thought to herself for a moment. They were all to go to the training hall today for some sort of orientation. She hadn't planned to show up until the last of the students arrived. It was just on the other side of the dorms anyway. Not like it was far from here.

Exiting the laboratory on her way home, Elizabeth smiled and waved to the other girls who were nearby. She knew they were like her, had seen them around once in a while though she hadn't really talked with them before. Not that she needed to to know someone like Marin. Who wouldn't be able to recognize the first of the girls that had entered into this program. Even if she didn't look all that powerful like this....

"Hey Marina," she called out as she paused for the moment, making sure the girl saw her waving at her It seemed like she was busy to Elizabeth wouldn't interfere, she just wanted to ensure that the other girl knew that she had been seen. All in all, definitely not a bad day.

She noticed a trio of girls congregating together and judging for thier jewellery they too were gundams. Lily somewhat felt easier she had at least that in common as she walked over with fears of what she could become surpressed in the back of her mind. "Well looks like we've got a little gang going on here" she giggled her hand twirlled through her long blonde hair "Its great to see you all, but does anyone know what this...orientation thing is about? Are we moving things round or something?"

Marina brushed back her hair, the tanned girl looked at the others. "Hmmm...not sure, I guess we'll have to go there and find out." she said putting an arm around each girl. "It's that building down there, I think..." she pointed south east.
