Awesome Netflix shows

I don't know about you but I'm addicted to Netflix. It's amazing.

What shows on Netflix do you find to be absolutely amazing?

Mine would be:

- Orange Is The New Black
- Salem
- Supernatural
- American Horror Story
- Walking Dead
- Dexter

House of Cards: The story might be too linear for my liking but the acting makes up for it and makes it an enjoyable experience.

Blacklist: It feels a bit repetitive near the last season but I really like this show.

I've watched a few episodes of other shows that were fun. Psych, iZombie, Better Call Saul, and Orange is the new Black come to mind.

Those are all good ones but my absolute favorites are

Stranger Things
Arrested Development
Hemlock Grove
The Following
Sons of Anarchy
Fringe
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Parks and Recreation
Gotham

I absolutely adore Salem as well. So freaking dark and sexy. Sometimes Mary gets a little emo and it's irritating but when she's gettin' all Queen of Fucking Darkness on people, I love her.

Daredevil. Daredevil. And that other show it's on the tip of my tongue oh yeah! Daredevil.

Jessica Jones was okay too.

house of cards is not really a "great" show like sopranos or anything, but for a show that's just actors being cheesy and strutting around it's very fun. basically a better version of scandal.

orange is the new black is very... idk how to put it, "written by 'funny' white english majors" for better and worse, a lot of the conversation scenes are like, comedians riffing together, especially the black girls. this is a very good show that has empathy for all its characters, even the "bad" ones, and that's fun to watch.

daredevil - i didn't love season 1, too much boring legal drama and weird talk about THIS CITY. (didn't hate it either, there are good fight scenes and stick is a needed burst of energy). season 2 takes that legal drama and adds THE FUCKIN PUNISHER in a brilliant move. elektra is amazing, daredevil season two is dope as fuck.

jessica jones is like, designed in a lab to be the tumblr dream show. it's a show about "abuse" - kilgrave is the most obvious but every subplot is about an abusive relationship of some kind and how people break free of that and reclaim their own identities. it is incredibly strong from a thematic standpoint, you could teach a college class on it. action scenes not so good. if it sounds interesting to you personally, watch it. it's a very "what it says on the tin" show.

supernatural - an incredible, timeless story about love and friendship and brotherhood. especially interesting because stories about non-sexual love aren't told very often in hollywood. the demon/angel/satan stuff is just flavor. stop watching after season five.

parks & rec/30 rock - life is hard, and sometimes it's nice to watch a show about nice, funny people who don't have serious problems. digital prozac. parks and rec's first season is a show highlighting the uselessness of people and institutions and you may want to skip it. i didn't, it's cool if you're in that mood.

hemlock grove - fucking trash. famke janssen is a goddess but still, don't watch this.

peaky blinders - dope as fuck. it's nice to see cillian murphy as a leading man. this is kind of like house of cards, you're here to see actors ham it up. there's more violence than HoC and you might find that cathartic.

lilyhammer - okay this is the third "ACTORS! ACTING!" show, and people forget about it pretty often. it's a very... american show, about a mobster cutting a swath through some soft swedish people. it never gets as dark or dangerous as the premise makes you think (SPOILER) this could easily be like, a USA show. still, a nice time.

Truth. :D Not even gonna defend it. The acting was alright, the lore was all over the place; I compare it to a grown up Teen Wolf for the similar themes and "reinventing the lore for modern times yet we forgot what we said last season" type storytelling. And the hot guys with the proclivity for taking their shirts off and liberal use of fake blood. That's why I watched it. For the bromance that borderlined homoeroticism and porn-like aspect of the hot guys. Same reason I watched Teen Wolf for two seasons, which I will never recommend to anybody, lol.

Forgot to add Gotham to my list!

Netflix for the win!

My list includes:

House M.D.
Bones
Warehouse 13
The Strain
Helix
Eureka
Terra Nova
Dinotopia
Bitten [US Version]
Being Human [[British Version]]
Being Human [[US Version]]
Super Natural
Doctor Who Classic
Doctor Who 9-12th Doctors [[reboot basically]
Jurassic Park, Lost World, JP3
Deep Blue Sea
4400
Animal [[interesting horror movie]]
Walking Dead
DareDevil
The Flash
Arrow
Gotham
Justice League War
Justice League the Flashpoint Paradox
Justice League
Justice League Unlimited
Young Justice
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Dragons-Race to the Edge
How To Train Your Dragon 2

There is more but that is just what I can spout off from the top of my head.

I don't have Netflix, but I'm a big fan of Peaky Blinders and would second the recommendation. It's a well-researched, lush period drama about British gangsters in the wake of the Great War. There's a superb soundtrack, some brilliant actors, and it just so gorgeous to watch.

Stranger Things is my absolute favourite right now.
But I also thoroughly enjoy Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and also, The Last Kingdom!
Luke Cage is being released in September - can't wait!

If I was to recommend any shows on netflix they would be. Some are better then others; but all of them have their charm, though a few of them lose it the longer they go. That was one reason I didn't include Supernatural, Bones or Psych.

Stranger Things
Narcos
Aquarius
Luther
Peaky Blinders
Black Books
Farscape
Star Trek
Leverage
Lie To Me
Blacklist
Burn Notice
White Collar
Copper
Longmire
Borgia
Criminal Minds
Graceland
Madmen
Person of Interest
Carlos
Sons of Anarchy
The Killing
American Horror Story
Magic City

Okay so since so many of you were suggesting "Stranger Things," I started watching it and oh my god fuck all of you this shit is nightmare material
what the fuck came out of that chick's wall oh my god

I'm kinda disappointed Netflix doesn't have "Life on Mars" and "Sanctuary" those were pretty good series in my opinion.

"Stranger Things" ? okay I must investigate this now....things popping out of people's walls?

It's a nostalgic tv series that takes place in the 80s. Tons of 80s Classic horror, comics, sci fi, and fantasy themes are explored in this series (among many other cliche themes). HIGHLY RECOMMEND. But if you're not familiar with the 80s genres, you may find the show confusing and/or cheesy and disappointing.

I didn't think I'd enjoy it, but bojack horseman is really good.

I'm in the middle of Parks and Recreation.

Unfortunately my country has a limited selection of shows, otherwise I'd probably have more to suggest.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. I've only seen the first episode but I find it entertaining thus far. If you enjoy shows from BBC then I think you will enjoy this.

I'm going to try not to list what has already been listed.

Twin Peaks
An unusual show set in the sleepy, logging town of Twin Peaks. Odd characters are affected by the death of town sweetheart, Laura Palmer, and take actions that travel the show down somewhat surreal roads. If you're at all familiar with the works of David Lynch, then you might know what to expect. Twin Peaks has an odd sort of charm that makes it unique, despite the rather tired premise of a murder that rocks a small town. You'll either love it or you'll hate it.

Spartacus
A re-imagining of the legendary Spartacus. Go into this one expecting bizarre gore, lots of nudity, and over-the-top performances. A really fun watch, especially if you're a fan of Lucy Lawless, boobs, and naked men. There's also a rather fun, if left-field, rendition of Julius Cesar in this.

Mad Men
Follow Donald Draper, as he continuously fucks up his life. Set against the backdrop of 1960's America, Mad Men is about the seedy, underbelly of the "wild west" era of the American advertisement industry. Convincing performances, and complex characters round out a very interesting show. It can be a bit of a slow watch at times, but it's entirely worth it.

Firefly
It's a western set in space. Follow the charming crew of the Serenity, as they go on heists and escape double-crosses. There isn't much I can say about this show that would convince you to watch it, because it is certainly better than the sum of it's parts. It does have Gina Torres in it, so that's a huge plus.

Breaking Bad
You've probably heard of this one. Walter White becomes a meth dealer, as he makes increasingly bad decisions to stabilize a life going off the rails. Smart writing and convincing acting combines to make a very entertaining experience. This show put Bryan Cranston on the map, and there's a good reason for it.

I've recently started Supernatural. I watched Stranger Things when it first launched and I'm dying for season 2. I'm in the middle of Black Mirror, which intense, thought provoking and all out amazing!

Buffy, obviously, is a favorite. (I think it's still on there?)
White Collar.
I also spend waaaay too much time in the Reality TV section.

Salem- can not wait for the third season to come out in halloween.
Supernatural- Though I have watched since first episode. Also own all seasons on dvd up to season 11.

Finished the first season of Stranger Things the other night. I heavily recommend it.

Its somewhat of a simple story but the beautiful delivery creates the wonderful illusion of a grand story. The acting is great, and I love the directing. I have a soft spot for hurt mothers and crying kids so I feel a bit taken advantage of :p

Stranger Things is so great. For once, the kids act really well. They tend to annoy me to no end in most shows.

Many good ones have already been recommended. Firefly, Farscape, Peaky Blinders, Copper, Borgia, Madmen... I almost dropped Breaking Bad and Spartacus in the beginning... SO happy I didn't.

If you can find them, I greatly recommend the shows The Bureau and The Tunnel. Currently binge watching the second one, and waiting for the new season of Bureau.
