Over hundreds of years, Duel Monsters has taken countless strides towards the future. First as a simple table top card game, Then to a spectical to be witnessed at stadiums filled with holo-generator fields, to portable disks capable of projecting a holographic duel any time any place, to creating a dangerous but high-octane and highly exhilarating sport from the game, to being able to duel as though the monsters were actually real till the final stage, Where the monsters using Photons and forcefields, were actually lifelike to the point where you could touch them.
The Arc-Light system, although not intended to be used as a weapon, enabled countless things such as warefare, expedient travel or marvelous dueling specticals. One particular academy on a far off island Used this system to teach the students the joys of dueling, as it practically made the world go round. But others found it had other uses...To think Duel Monsters could teach you about sex ed.
In any case, this story takes place around a plethora of duelists.
Let's start from the top.
Asuna Ririko. She's a former Raw Yellow but was moved to Obelisk Blue when her secret was discovered one day while dueling against someone she strongly detested. Asuna was someone who hardly cared about dueling. In fact, While she was extremely skilled at dueling, she took any excuse to not perform unless it counted the most. Rumour has it, she has a nightmarish temper and it reflects on her dueling. She uses the Xyz Archetype, RaidRaptors, to crush her enemies with ever lasting and ever rising brut force.
Alexandra Cleiss is a young woman often clad in an elegant custom made armor. She uses the Dominant power of the Mighty Felgrand Dragon to Get out of any bad situation and to sequentially beat her opposition into submission.
Outside of a duel, she was calm and submissive. She often avoided the futas as they were often brash and Abrasive. They made her nervous...and the more nervous she got, the harder she dueled to avoid the terrible rumoured fate of losing to a futa!
We'll skip the next few and go to the most influential of the list for now. Chiyaku Shinra was arguably the best duelist on Academy Island. Having a flawless 1786/0 Win/Loss record, She was often the talk of the town. She was regarded as "The Psychic Duelist with an Answer to Everything" Particularly due to the fact that she often had a response for every play her foes made and literally decided if they were permitted to play or not. Her PSYFrames were truely a fearsome force and there were so few left who could muster the courage to challenge her.
As of late, she began to focus more efforts on her job of being the Student Body President and less on dueling. She had came up with a new Sub-ranking system, to encourage Reds and Yellows to shine in their own way in order to have the potential to outshine their superiors. The school's students would be divided by ranking. F for Academically challenged students, as dueling was only a part of the things taught to you. If you were in F, You had the disrespect of the entire world. Your classroom and it's equipment reflected that. Cardboard boxes for desks and ancient cushions found in an abandoned alley way back in Domino City. The room looked like it were simply forgotten by time and had aged 1000 years in days. Normally your test scores were under 60% if you were in F.
Next was D. D were average 'scrubs' whom were superior only to F ranks. Their Classrooms and Equipment were better then that of F but that wasn't saying much.
B Ranks are The kind who get 70 to 85%. Their equipment is the kind you'd expect to find in your Average school.
A Ranks were gifted with much better furnishings and equipment. They had equipment that arguably made them look like snobby rich kids...which often cases, being in Obelisk Blue, Most kids were. The average graded needed for A Rank was 86 to 99%
And finally, S ranks were students who lost so rarely they were lost under their win scores. In addition, their test scores had to be constantly locked at 100%. It was insanely rigorous but being in S Class had it's advantages; World class teachers who focused all of their attention on a class room of 3 people, as being an S-Rank Student was almost impossible for those of the some 30,000 students. But in any case, The Idea was to inspire flunkies into reaching out for more while rewarding those who have with a better life at school.
But that was only a part of the fun. Summoner Test Wars. When you took an exam, Every answer was worth a certain amount of LP or Life Points. If the test score was on 50 then each answer was worth roughly 100LP. In Summoner Test Duels, Your lifepoints for that duel were determined by your test scores. Students could take a recovery exam at any time to overwrite their previous score. They could answer an unlimited number of questions in any given subject within 20 minutes. Your score would replace how much Life Points you have remaining with your new score. Your life points did not replenish from duel to duel.
Example, If you began a duel during a Summoner Test War with 5,200LP, And were dropped down from 5,200LP to 1200LP before you retreated to a Recovery Exam, you needed 13 correct answers in twenty minutes to Improve your score of average difficulty. F Rank Exams gave you 10LP per correct Answer. D = 50LP/Answer, B = 100LP/Answer, A = 250LP/Answer and S = 500LP.
If Class F waged War against Class D and managed to get to Class D's defense perimeter and defeat their Class Rep, They won the war and were able to either exchange classes and Equipment or to have the class in debt to you so you can use them at a later date. In the last war, F class challenged S Class and thinking only three oponents would be simple. Chiyaku, The class rep, stood alone in her domain and met their challenge head on with an overwhelming Score of 525,000LP.
Needless to say, S-Class won that one.
Once a class declared war against another, That class lost the right to declare war for 3 months. Also, the 2nd party could not declare war against the instigator for 3 months. This system became extremely popular and certainly livened up things around the island. Some Slifer Reds even made Class A and were even permitted to change dorms because of it! It was a perfect way to gain respect no matter what dorm you were in.
School had let up for the day. Everyone was going to their respective dorms and Chiyaku was at the Student Council room reviewing statistics of past events as well as comments and such from the students. She spent more time working than anyone else usually, so she was often here.
(Sorry for the huge ass intro xD I had no clue who to start off with or what to do so I just winged it. hope it's okay)
