Places to Take a Date

Where is the best place to take a date?

For me, it'd either be the movies or watching a movie at home with them. Movies are a big part of my life and if someone I'm going to be with doesn't jibe with that, then it'd be nice to know that right away. So, the date would definitely involve a lot of talking about the films afterward.

Also, there are a couple of landmarks around here and Philly that are about the birth of America as the USA which would be really cool to take somebody.

One of my favorite dates was when a guy took me to a children's museum. I'm easily amused, and it was more about having fun together than it was about the museum.

Another one I enjoyed was just walking around downtown and trying foods at different snack/dessert/coffee shops.

I also like chilling at home and watching a movie, anime, anything really. One time a boyfriend and I watched Attack on Titan and made breakfast for dinner, and I loved that.

I'm not picky with dates, other than the fact that I don't like them so structured and on a schedule. I like leisurely dates, so that ideally we'd have a lot of time to talk and get to know each other--from the kinds of animes they like to why they put gummy bears on their frozen yogurt, haha.

The best date I've been on was when a guy took me to a lake and rented a small boat. He had fruit and drinks with him and we just stayed on the lake for hours.

I love to go to the movies on a first date.
That's where me and my husband went - we were hella classy and went to see Avatar then followed it up by going out to McDonalds.
Like I said, hella classy.

Even though I love movies, I wouldn't want to go to the cinema on a first date. I think of those like a job interview because I'd rather be able to get to know the other person. I can't do that in movies because I like to maintain 100% focus on screen.

Maybe a restaurant, a coffee shop or a walk in the park. If the guy was fun the place won't really matter.

This is locationaly biased, but I'm not far from Niagara Falls. It's a pretty fun place to take a date, really. There's always fairs, nice resturants, and a ton of Casinos if you're of the risky variety.

Never disappointed, really.

Me amd my husband first dated he took me to a arcade one of those obes that srill take coins. He ended up winning enough to get me a actual cubic zorcnic ring there. Thats when we first dated I kept the ring. We ended up splitting up and two years later got back together. Our first date the second time he took me to the local arcade and to the movies. Even got me out of my confort zone and had me try sushi for the firdt time. We still due date night like those on occasion. Usually we our at home abd cook abd watch a movie.

You can't beat getting all cosied up under a blanket while huskies pull you on a sleigh through sparkling snow. A real valentine's day kind of date. :)

I've never actually have been on a date lol but like if I did

I'd totally be okay with like even just going for a walk somewhere till it gets dark and chilly (because that ='s snuggle weather) lol.

Or just be somewhere quiet 'cause I'd like to indulge myself in the person I'm with in the moment.
Just watch their expressions, how they act and all that mushy good stuff.

You buncha romantic cuties ;____;

My go to first date is go karting. There's an indoor track that is unlimited rides for a set price near me. And usually around date time (after 8 or nine) it's mostly empty. You get to have a lot of fun and be competitive while bonding between races.

I live in a smallish city and when im out and about I take note of places which would be nice for a date, there are a few clubs, restaurants and parks round here. For me on a first date it should be something a little laid back, no pressure just the two of you hanging out and seeing what they're like. They may not be 'the one' but at least you'll have a nice day out together. That being said ive had a few first dates but never been followed up. After that first date though stuff like movies, night in with takeaway and grander days out would help build things into something special.

Unless we both can't wait to see a certain movie, I'd rather a date in a less noisy location where it's actually not a problem to talk ;)
Classy restaurants and all can be real fun, but also a nightmare if it turns out that you don't like the person.

Hah! Right? It feels like you have to awkwardly stay because you both ordered food and now have to last the entire duration of the dinner. I try to avoid that, as I don't like feeling boxed in or unable to leave when I want to.

Hero: Your avatar and signature set made me smile just now XD Adorable!

Sadly there is much in the way of exciting places to take a date where I live.

RedRose and Amriamella I COMPLETELY agree/understand what you mean by hating feel boxed in should the situation turn awkward especially if it turns out you and the other person actually have very little in common and would do better to part ways albeit you stay together for the duration of the date especially if you are in a public social setting such a café to avoid any and all forms of social backlash from those around you.

For me, I never arranged dates/asked to go out on a date they more or less...happened naturally. Going somewhere with a group of friends and the singles tend to gravitate towards one another, eventually splitting off into pairs as they go about enjoying themselves in the general area. Most 'dates' I've been on consisted of randomly pairing off with a friend or someone else invited along on a group social outing and taking the time to get to know them as we enjoyed ourselves with whatever we were originally doing.

Ren Fairs, Conventions, and Amusement Parks were the three main places this trend seemed to happen. During college this often gravitated to social gatherings in the relaxation and common areas of the grounds, just a bunch of people hanging around, talking and blowing off steam.

We rarely do dinner and a movie, it's hard to find the time and our schedules don't help at all. Being overnighters we are most often awake while everything else is closed down.

So what we do instead is binge watch some series or we'll go out cruising in the car. It's a nice way to relax and we've covered a lot of ground just doing that. One night we drove two and a half hours one way for some arbies in another town. We stopped, drove on through, looked at the corn palace in the middle of the night and went back home. Keeping closer to town we occasionally head up to the obelisk that's on the highest point in town, supposedly it's were some settlers got ambushed by natives, we call it God's Penis because it's a fucking obelisk that looks out over the entire city.

Then there's the falls for which my town is named. Those are rather pretty at all hours of the day.

We have a super cute little downtown area in my town that's fun to wander, but I really like *doing* things together - it's just so much easier to chat when there's something you're mutually focused on. Making some kind of art, playing a game, kayaking; I'm a fan.
