Yes... I did and there's no answer.

His last couple posts in his journal indicated that he was very busy with work and sick relatives. I'm not sure if that is any consolation, but life might have just gotten hectic for him and he needed a sudden leave.

Unless he personally gave you other means with which to contact him, there isn't a way to find out what has happened. Generally when people are absent for awhile its cause life just threw a big hissy fit for them.

Most likely... I just think that he would have messaged me about it. Not that he gave me other information but I suppose that I hope that he is alright and life is not too crazy for him.
