Five oâ??clock sharp. The clock ticked the seconds by and En had to wonder if it was just him, or the days were dragging on slower every time he went to work. Sometimes, he didnâ??t know if he was going to be so bored that heâ??d fall asleep in the middle of work or not, and that was a bad knowledge to have hovering in his mind. The tall, dark brunette had always been the â??ladyâ??s manâ?, but sadly, he rarely found the right lady to be with. While he wasnâ??t the type of person to just sleep around, sometimes En wondered if he should at least pick up someone to spend time with instead of just mope around after work, pondering on things that he could have or should have been doing.
Ughâ?¦ ok, no more thinking about the past like thatâ?¦ he firmly told himself, shifting his head to the side as he stood up and decided to get some fresh air and walk around. Work had just ended, but instead of going home like he usually did, he decided to wander the streets and see if there was something for him to do. Day by day, he constantly found himself at a lost of what to do after work, knowing that he really didnâ??t have much to do in the year. Somewhat a common corporate worker, the twenty four year-old wondered if this was where his life just began to stay the same daily.
Today, he had woken up at six oâ??clock sharp and went into the shower like every morning. By six fifteen, he would dress into black slacks, a loose, yet professional white dress shirt, a gray tie, and the companyâ??s formal grayish-blue blazer. Many people around him always commented on how it had to be wonderful to work in La Beau, one of the worldâ??s most renowned fashion designing companies there was in the States. If they had only known that he enjoyed baking more than fashion, they would probably realize that he didnâ??t exactly care for such things and would rather be spending time at a bakery, making cakes and the like, rather than filing modeling shots, or interacting with those high-end fashion personnel.
By six thirty, he would have had breakfast ready; some simple eggs and a thin slice of ham. Then, like always, he would be out of the door by six forty-five, and with a short bus ride, En would be at work. For being in such a high paying position compared to other workers in other fields comparable, he had a simple house and a nice, black car in the Audi A8 series. But if one didnâ??t see him leave the house in such a fashion, or even drive around in the car that he never used to transport him to work, then they wouldnâ??t believe he was a ratherâ?¦ well-off man. For such a young age, it was something to be proud of, and yet, he was fearful. The sign of being bored with his life because he was alone and just plainly working, made him realize that he was wasting his youth awayâ??perhaps having already lost too much of it focusing on work only.
Wandering down the streets, with emerald eyes just lazing around the ground, En wondered if he should attempt to date someone for companionship. That was always a hassle, as things could always go wrong, but that was what a relationship was all about, wasnâ??t it? The last woman he had been with though, had cheated on him, which still made him twitch at the memory. Sometimes, he had to wonder if it was just his luck with women, or perhaps it was her. â??Someone give me a signâ?¦â? the brunette male huffed out, gazing towards the sky for a moment as he ruffled his short hair. The brief thought about finding a male companion made him raise an eyebrow at the sky, as if that stray thought had been the sign. Then again, he had some stupid ideas in the past when he was drunk.
However, as it is, he hadnâ??t had any drinks for quite some time, and the thought of finding someoneâ??hopefully safeâ??to roll around in the hay with, didnâ??t sound like such a bad idea. But he wasnâ??t gay to his knowledge, so En had to wonder if that meant he would have a one-night stand with someone, or risk going out with another male in a relationship that would be longer than a few nightsâ?¦ only to break it to them that he was straight. Thatâ??s stupid, En. scolding himself wasnâ??t the sanest thing to do either, but he didnâ??t attempt to â??scold his scoldâ??. When he gazed down to focus on where he was going, he blinked a few times and realized that he had lost himself down some strange back alleys. â??Greatâ?¦â? the male sighed, spotting something in the far distance and decided to head towards it and see what the thing was. En sometimes believed that things happened for a reason, and maybe, whatever it was, was something he was supposed to find or see. Another part of him thought that it was probably just a litter of nekos, which was common in many alleyways in the city.
In todayâ??s world, there were mix-breeds of what they knew to be neko-types, which was an odd thing that some people had a hard time grasping at first. It was like something out of a storybook, as they were so similar to people, yet had many traits like a feline. When each neko of the small group gave birth though, there would be the litter like every cat birthed, causing the population of this unknown species to multiply like crazy, before the creatures had to either be exterminated or accepted. The world came together and decided that instead of becoming murders and killing off every neko there was, they would give citizenship to those who resided in their region. Many nekos were similar to cats though, acting like their counterparts and more often then not, they were pets for the â??regularâ?? humans. Other times, there were some that were more human in nature and their forms, so instead of acting like a cat, they were closer to humans in personalities and traits.
With the sky turning a golden shade of orange, casting a lovely glow over the somewhat dark alleyway, En had to think of this as some random and divine way of the gods showing him the way. Perhaps it would lead him to the answers to whatever he was thinking of and his lonely and boring life. It was either that or something much worst, like the gods watching his impending death because of his stupidity. After all, not many people just wandered down alleyways they didnâ??t know very well, thinking that they were going to find the answer to all their problems. Hopefully, this wouldnâ??t end up like some horror-murder scene and heâ??d be splashed on the television in the evening news.
