Fiftieth year, second month, twenty-fifth day of our lord the king of Hyruleâ??s reign dawned on one of the darkest days in recent history. Across the land attacks were happening massive armies of monsters were working in a coordinated fashion that they never had before. Hundreds of town guards were being overwhelmed by a army the likes they had never seen. However through all of this people wondered why the castle sent no help why the gates were shut and locked tight.
Two days later the answer came, the castle had been the first to fall. The gates opened on that day letting hundreds of refugees into the town merely to be confronted by another army just like the ones they had been fleeing from. Only this one had a clearly defined leader. He stood out in front of the monsters dark cloak billowing in the breeze holding the severed head of the king of Hyrule. It became clear that the true monster was the leader when he turned back to his army and said simply â??Slaughter them.â? There were few survivors of that first few days of take over most of them becoming servants or slaves only the most cold hearted became leaders of the monster army.
Now with the main body of Hyrule under his control he moved quickly to secure the smaller border towns. Towns like Lyonis where it was said that the next great hero was to come from. This was the next target of his wrath.
========
Lyonis is a small town deep in the high mountains of Hyrule. It was well away from most of the problem areas where monsters came and attacked often. Lyonis was well defended mostly because it was in a sheer valley that allowed entrance from only two passes. On either side of the passes were to beautiful green fields that were some of the most rich farm land in hyrule which is why the town was built here. As well as the heave timber growth to through the north pass. In the narrowest part of each pass was a wooden stockade that was always manned and had a gate that could swing into position if something ever attacked. Little ever did since the place was a natural fortress.
