June was a big month for Amy Greene -- she had just capped off her third year of her bachelor's in business program, managing to actually make the Dean's List after a grueling semester. One more year to go and an internship to land and she'd be absolutely golden.
And moreover, the NBA draft had been coming up for a while now. Not that it was that big of a deal for her -- she'd never been really into sports. But it was something that meant the world to her long-time boyfriend, Dashawn Jones.
She'd held a big party for him, a draft viewing party. Everyone knew he had it in him, knew that he'd go straight from college (having just graduated), having kicked ass all throughout his college career, and she'd been proud of him all the while.
The party had gone off without a hitch; there were snacks, friends, more than a few drinks, and more... recreational activities going on somewhere within the Greene family home, loaned to her by her parents for the party. They'd previously been mortified that their daughter was dating a black man, but his meteoric rise had been able to impress even the stoic Greene family.
Which meant that everyone had been there to see Dashawn get drafted in the top five.
The party was winding down, people drifting off into the ether of early morning. Amy sidled up to Dashawn where he was sitting on the couch, leaning down until her soft chest was pressed into his shoulders. "... hey," she whispered.
"Still got one present for you. Meet me in the bedroom." She pressed a brief kiss to the side of his neck, slipping off into the heart of the house mere moments later.
