This seems as good of a place to move my half-baked world ideas as any. I feel more comfortable having them in one place rather than scattered about. Some worlds I'm currently working on, some are abandoned and I hope to find the spark of inspiration to revisit someday. Some are more developed, while others are simple wisps of ideas. Some are going to be in story form while others are going to be more organized lists and such. I'll start with the one tonight, and most likely add others with time.

Paradise City
A small red sun made a slow ascent over a bright indigo and emerald sea. Its weak light was hardly comparable to the three moons and countless stars that littered the sky. Erego, the largest of the three moons currently visible, was hanging low and heavy close to the horizon. Its bright silver rays managed to cut through a group of fluffy dark blue clouds. Astero, better known as the Gods’ Pride, shimmered gold as it dangled low and free to the south. Basemo was the smallest of the planet’s six moons. It kept its eternal seat high above, its ghostly blue glow throwing an ethereal halo around the orb. The pull of the different moons created small whirlpools in the ocean, enhanced further by the dwarfed sun’s mild illumination. White foam sparkled with the bright ruby glimmers that the small orb added in its attempt to brighten the world. It only succeeded in a simple red-hued twilight that bathed the city, allowing Paradise City’s inhabitants to sleep for a little longer. So the the phenomena of the ocean’s dance continued without them, allowing its single spectator to watch on in peace.

The single spectator, better known as Vaska, sat on the higher roof of Paradise Palace in quietude, enjoying the phenomena that occurred just outside of the place he called home. The three moons shared the sky only twice a year, and it was a sight he hadn’t missed since he first stumbled across it years ago. The rabbit hybrid sighed softly after taking a small sip of coffee, the warmth of the small sun far exceeding its light as it sank into his fur and through his skin. His long raptor-like tail took on a slow swinging rhythm as the red twilight made the blue markings on his black fur and scales light up like so many stars. His eyes closed partway, and he let his mind wander as he continued to watch, his long ears listening for the first stirrings of his brothers and sisters from within the mock-palace.

Vaska was far from religious, and could only vaguely be called spiritual in any sense of the word. But this sight, right here, sometimes made him wonder if there wasn’t more to life than what was tangible. It seemed almost too coincidental that a strange visitor would arrive and offer an even stranger proposal on the eve of this moving show of natural and astral forces. Vaska was actually tempted to take it. As much as he loved Paradise City for all its guilded beauty and falsified splendor, the idea of seeing new worlds and places, the chance for a new life… it was so tempting for one as old as he was becoming. The boys were already whispering that he should have been retired years ago, yet his clients still preferred him over all others. He was one of the best at what he did, and it made up for his fading youth. How many more years would that last though?

His ears flicked at the sound of the first stirrings. It seemed Samir was cooking again, even if Red had told him half a hundred times to leave it to the servants. Hopefully Yeoman wouldn't try to clean up again or Red would have a true fit. A faint smile tugged on Vaska’s lips as he reflected on the different quirks of his brothers. He finally stood up and brushed his bare legs and rear off before making his descent. The larger of the two suns was breaking over the horizon. It would light up the city, and the other boys would be leaving their clients to attend to their daily chores before finding their beds. If Vaska wasn’t lounging in his usual couch with a fresh cup of coffee as he had every morning for the past several years, they might start to worry and ask questions. The last thing he wanted was for any of them to worry. Far better to deal with this decision on his own, in peace, and let them focus on the upcoming Choosing Ceremony.

He glanced over to the sky and ocean one last time. Erego was already setting in the north, and the waters were calming to their usual gentle tug and pull. Nature was settling back down. He forced his own expression to be just as calm, even as his thoughts and feelings were building into a storm of conflict.

I want you to go through that and highlight every instance of the word "was" and then figure out what verb you could use instead. "Was" is passive. You need to use active verbs more.
