"Huh....!" Jacob said as he broke free from his deep thought. "I said you spelt the coffee bean's everywhere." His manager said with a snicker. "Oh sh- Sorry, just lost in thought." He proclaimed, as he quickly rushed to start sweeping it up. With a sigh, his manager lightly jabbed his shoulder. The older women slightly displeased but, otherwise forgiving. "Ha, well id hate to see the state of your new home. Your pretty messy." She said, as she went back to making her own Coffee. Yes, new home. Jacob was new to this city, he only moved there last week and still, he is lost almost everywhere he goes. He was not used to living in a big city. He was a trailer park boy through and through. But, regardless of how green he was to a big city life, he was in it now. And needed to make the best of his situation. Even if, for the time being, he was stuck working at Starbucks. At least until he can pass his Exams. It was a slow day, enough to make him get sent home early but his manager was nice enough to keep him around and let him stay clocked on till his shift was rightly over. " Ya, it is pretty bad, I wont lie... Ha ha." Snickering, his manager playfully leered over to him from the other side of the back counter. "You need a girl friend, maybe a woman's touch will do you good." She said, stirring her coffee with a straw. "Oh!... Well, ya, but I am so busy I don't find much time to meet up with anyone. I mean... Id love to, it is just a little hard." Sighing, his manager shook her own head as she looked over to the clock. "Well, I will just chalk that lack of confidence there on acount of all that gloomey rain outside." She proclaimed generously, pointing out the windo with her thumb. It had been raining all day, likely the very reason they were so slow. Not to mention, why Jacob was probably so tired, despite a good nights sleep and access to a few coffee breaks. "Any way, look at the time." Marcy said, looking over at the clock. Jacob looked over for himself, it was definitely time to clock off. He couldn't wait to get home, take a shower, maybe even have a beer before he goes to his studies. "Yep, time for me to get going. Always a pleasure Marcy." He said with a warm smile, punching himself out promptly. Gathering his phone and Umbrella, he walked out the door. Barely catching Marcy's own good by as the sound of heavy rain fell down upon the pavement. Flipping his Umbrella open, he smiled over to his manager, before he began to walk out into the cold hard rain.
But as he was walking out the door, Jacob already got right into a rude welcome from this strange city. The man having to quickly back up into the wall, as a Polar Bear waltzed rudely passed him, a grunt and a "Watch it." coming out of his mouth with a aggressive tone. "You watch it, you take up half the sidewalk!" Jacob said in protest, to no avail. Groaning, he began to walk foreword, catching the wandering eyes of a Zebra and a Deer, more then likely curious towards the humans yelling. "Sorry." He said, assuming their alerted nature came natural to them, as creatures that were often prey out in the wild. Yes, this city was odd, Anthropos City, of the greek word Anthropos. Meaning Anthropoid, beings that share human qualities, but also that of other animals. Anthropos City was developed many years ago, in an effort to legitimize the peace between Man and their New Neighbors. Not many people knew where Anthros came from or how, but what was known is the simple fact that these days their race flourished in numbers along side humans. And, that both races had an often times shaky relationship akin to the way humans often treated each other. Not to mention the fact many Anthro's themselves had to deal with racism among their own people. One that often times separated Carnivores from the Herbivores, one thinking the other weak as the one feared the other for once preying upon them... It was odd, Lions existed, but so to did Anthro Lions. Deer existed, cows existed, Wolves and Dogs existed, but so to did their Anthro counters... But Jacob himself was no expert. He wouldn't pretend to know how or why they existed, especially since he went his whole life without seeing a single Anthro, not until he came to this city of coarse.
Some time passed as Jacob walked the wet streets, and he felt pretty lost. He did not know where he was going which was frustrating given the weather. "I could of sworn I take a right off of Darwin Avenue." He said, his mood slightly picking up as the rain slowly turned to a light drizzle. At least it was not that bad any more. Walking to his side, he leans against a wall, next to door steps leading into an apartment building. Pulling out his phone to try and look up his address on google maps. "Wow, pretty lame when you need a phone to find your way home." He groaned, making sure his umbrella properly covered his phone from the rain. Rain drizzling down, into her short brown hair and along his handsome face. A small price to pay for keeping a hundred dollar phone clear from water. But not that he would complain to much, as he kind of liked the feeling. His hazel green eyes, now starting to look past his phone as he observed a occasional passerby. A very stout and strong lion passed by, a rather cute Gazzel hugging close to him. A lovely couple indeed, breaking barriers it seemed. Further, his attention was gathered to a rather gorgeous looking wolf, as she passed by herself. With a blush, he looked back down to his phone, he was not sure why but.... Embarrassingly enough, he though these anthro's were attractive. Some cute, some beautiful, some just simply exotic goddesses. Was that weird? He did not know, but he doubted any anthros would be attracted to him as well any way. After all, to them he is probably just a hairless ape, so odds were he would never really be with one any way. Right?
