Ego search not working?

How come half the time I click "view your posts" it can't find any results, and the other half it does find all the topics I ever posted in? What's the rhyme and reason behind this feature that only works sometimes!?

It's a bug in the search system that has yet to be fixed. For now, we just have to deal with it as is.

The phpBB dev who wrote the Sphinx search plugin chose to have phpBB handle the search daemon, rather than having it run as a daemon. It reindexes on every single post, which is insanely stupid, and also brings down the search while it is down.
