Alycia let out a sigh as she twsited the key in her hand, unlocking the door to the two bedroom apartment that she shaed with her roommate. A March evening was coming upon them, and she honestly couldn't believe how quickly this semester had flown by - almost seven months ago she had started her final year of college and in another month or so she would be done for good. Just in time, too, because three weeks after final exams, she as due to pop. She had found out a week after the school year started that her dunbass ex-boyfriend had left her knocked up, and now she was almost eight months along. It was upsetting at first. She knew that the baby would never grow up with both its parents around, and she'd never wanted to be a single mother. She grew to accept it, though - she had a job that would pay just enough and let her go full time at a moment's request, they offered her paid maternity, she had an amazing support system that was more than ready to hell her out at a single call.
Now all she wanted was for school to end - and for her baby girl to arrive. Her swollen abdomen was the first part of her to get anywhere, and Alycia couldn't remember the last time her back hadn't hurt, or when she'd last seen her feet while standing. She collapsed on to the couch and looked around for her roommate, pushing her layered black locks behind her shoulders. She pulled the white polka-dotted black button down that she was wearing open off and laid it over the arm rest nearer to her, leaving her in a black top that buttoned up between her beasts and hugged the swell of her abdomen snugly and black leggings.
Not knowing if her roommate was home or not, she called out: "Anyone home?"
She wasn't overly fond of her roommate - they didn't not get along, but they weren't exactly really friends. They were from opposite social groups and while they were civil, they didn't (at least to Alycia) have anything in common to really talk about. Alycia didn't mind her, though, not really. She seemed sweet enough.
