Gaius paced impatiently around his office. He was concerned, his last paralegal had left under a fog of weak excuses and hurried goodbyes a week ago. Since then he had been using temps to cover the work, though none were of the quality he wanted or needed. He was an attractive man, early to mid 30s, charming and handsome with a perfectly articulated accent. He had a chin that looked like it was cut from marble, his brown piercing eyes enough to make most women wet on their own. His office was as nicely decorated as he was handsome, with solid oak furniture and plush leather sofas for his clients.
He wasn't a trial lawyer. He drafted documents, negotiated deals and contracts, making exception money at the same time. He loved his job and wouldn't trade it for anything. His new paralegal was meant to show up at 9, it was now 9.15, of course Gaius reached the office at 6.30 sharp every morning to make sure he got ahead on work. He planned on being promoted as quickly as possible, he was determined to make it to the top as quickly as possible.
He sipped his now cold coffee and waited impatiently for his latest paralegal to arrive.
