The air outside the cabin was cool as Colin stepped outside, the early evening light barely warmed his face before he turned, shutting the door behind him. He walked towards the pavilion where his father was speaking to the other pack's leader. The Wendigo problem was getting out of hand and they risked having the Humans discovering them and invading the forest, taking away their hunting grounds from them.

He stood a behind a shrub, hidden from the sight of those in the shelter, listening in to the conversation. He remained perfectly still, instinctively freezing to remain undetected. A controlled breath brought the scent of the rain, moist soil, the wilds they were trying to preserve. The Wendigos were not normal and behaved like intelligent animals, they had enough strength to snap the neck of an unsuspecting Human like how one would break a stick of celery. They tended to keep their prey alive while they ate their insides as well. Luckily, they only hunt in the cover of night, meaning it was less likely that the creatures would be spotted. But as the golden rays of the glorious sunshine touched the land at dawn, the horribly mutilated corpses would show up, usually in the edges of the forest which had definitely got some attention.

Celine drove up to the cabin, a smile on her pouty lips. Her father had called her to meet him there, as he had some business to discuss with the closest pack leader. She hummed along to the radio as she drove up and parked her jeep next to her father's truck. She got out, pulling her long hair up into a ponytail, and checked herself in the mirror before moving with the grace of a wolf towards the cabin.

Her nose caught the scent of her father leading away from the cabin, and she turned, only to catch sight of her father and the other pack alpha speaking to one another within the pavilion. She leaned back against the jeep, waiting for her father to give her a signal to come up to them. Her father caught sight of her, and smiled, although she had to tilt her head since he looked a bit guilty as well.

He continued listening in, new specifics were shared between the two, something about the village further down the hill beginning to grow increasingly paranoid. Curfew was now in place to protect children in the safety. That would not work long before the Wendigos's hunger forced them into further violence, breaking into houses to claim their victims. The edges of his lips tightened slowly. Then they would attempt to root out the source of these attacks, clearly not seeing what was occurring. Most would perish, get lost and end up either joining the ranks of their foes. That would create a problem for them, the Werewolves once the forest got infested with the Wendigos.

Colin picked up a trace of another scent as he inhaled, noticing his elders becoming silent for a moment before continuing their discussion. He stepped around the back, taking a wide arcing route towards the front of the pavilion to see who was their new visitor.

Celine crossed her arms across her chest, pushing her soft breasts up against the cotton shirt. Her ears picked up soft footprints in the direction of her father, although it wasn't coming from them, and although she kept her eyes focused on her father, stiffened. She took a deep breath, scenting the air, and narrowed her eyes.

Finally though, her father waved his hand towards her, and she nodded, waving back, knowing he wanted her to join them. She moved quietly up the trail, her hips swaying gently back and forth. Under the scent of the honeysuckle oil body wash she used, her scent rested, proclaiming her to be a fertile female.

As she reached them, she smiled gently towards the other alpha, before coming to her father's side. He smiled at her, but there was a hint of trepidation, and she tilted her head, exposing her throat to him in an act of submission. She did not do it for the other alpha, as that would have been too much for her personality. Her father had already explained this to him, and he simply raised an eyebrow at her actions. She smiled sweetly. In her mind the only two males she would ever bare her throat to would be her father, and her mate. It was that simple.

Colin saw that there was a female, presumably his mate, who had joined the two elders, as he circled around to the front of the pavilion. This would halt the discussion which he so desperately wanted to glean more information from, but he guessed it would be best to meet his mate sooner than later. He walked up the cobbled path, ascending up a flight of stone steps to the pavilion to join them. His hands, he clasped behind his back, a gesture of confidence, which would be becoming of the next leader of the pack. He nods at the his mate's parent while his father welcomed him and beckoned for him to join them. A needless gesture but something he did not comment on.

"This is Colin, whom you may have heard about from your father," Amadeus glanced at either of them, "We just finished our discussion, and it seems it was the perfect timing for you to join us, I was about to call you down again."

Colin only smiled lightly in response, nodding, "I'm sure it was a fruitful one." To be honest, from what he heard, he was not so sure. He had not heard any solutions to their problem, but they could come later, or perhaps already discussed. He looked over to his mate, liking what he saw. Strong, feminine, everything an Alpha could ask for. He made no show of this other than to smile at her, "And you must be Celine."

Celine looked him over and couldn't fault her father his choice for her mate. She gave him a weak smile and hoped against all hope that they would be able to grow to love one another. Her parents had been an arranged mating, and it had blossomed into love and a strong bond. It was partially why she wasn't so against this as her father thought she was.

She had spoken to her mother before she had left the house, asking her a bunch of questions, and her mother had sat her down and finally told her that they had been an arranged mating too and had made it work. She knew her father would never leave her in the hands of an alpha who would abuse her, and if push came to shove, she would fight back with everything she had before she allowed a male to place a hand on her in violence.

A clearing of a throat caused her to shake her head and look at her father, who was smiling at her in an amused way. She smiled and blushed, knowing she had been caught in her deep thoughts.
"I'm sorry. I was thinking about something my mother had told me. Yes. I'm Celine. It's nice to finally put a face to the name Colin." She said as she turned her smile towards him. He looked to be a strong calm alpha, and she hoped she would have at least a little time to get to know him before they were declare a mated pair.

However, the way her father was looking at her caused her to cringe, knowing he was going to say something to upset her. She had no idea what it would be, but she waited with baited breath while he opened his mouth.
"Amadeus and I have agreed that you two are to be mated." James said as he looked over at his daughter. The question in her eyes was evident to all three men, and he sighed and said, "This weekend you'll be joined together, during the full-moon. I would have given you more time, but with the Wendigo problem, we need both packs united together. Your union will provide the bridge we need between us."
Celine couldn't gasp, couldn't breath, and she had to take a step back and lean against the pillar behind her as she rubbed her breastbone. It hadn't come as a complete shock, but she still felt like she had been sucker-punched. She turned to Amadeus, and in a soft voice, knowing they were on his land, asked, "Is it all right if I run for a bit?" Her wolf was clawing her way to the surface, and she wanted to have enough time to at least strip her clothing, before shifting.

Colin was slightly taken aback by her decision to go out for a run despite the threat. It was ill-advised and even at the height of folly. But still the man did not comment on her idea to go out, but instead let their elders have the first word.

Amadeus thought for a second, then nodded, "Yes, so long as you return before nightfall." He looked at James, wondering if he would stop his daughter. "But don't go too deep, especially to where the mountains begin. That is where the Wendigos' territory begins." He decided it was best to give a fair warning to her, just in case. These woods were still safe, but as one reached the mountains and began to climb, up where the air grew colder, the Wendigos would hunt in the night.

"I'll go along then. Just in case." Colin said, taking a step forward, "I know the woods better than you, so we won't be getting lost or going too far out." He beckoned to her, "We have a wardrobe in the back for those who want to shift, there is a curtain too." He led the way to the back of the lodge where she could strip and keep her clothes before shifting.

She looked to her father, who simply nodded and then thanked Amadeus for the kindness. She followed Colin over to the back of the lodge, and stripped, not caring that he was getting the full show. Her skin was pale peach, in contrast to the black thickness of her hair, and she had an hourglass figure. Her ass led down to tone long legs, and she glanced at him shyly through the curtain of her hair, wondering if he liked what he saw. She wasn't usually so outgoing, but if he was going to be her mate, might as well see what reaction she would get from stripping in front of him.

Then again, they were werewolves, nudity really wasn't that big of a deal.

Either way, she folded her clothes carefully and placed them inside the wardrobe before moving away and allowing the shift to overtake her body. She changed form almost seamlessly, and where once a woman had stood, now a midnight black wolf stood. She sat waiting for Colin, in deference to the alpha in him.

Her black fur was tinged with long silver guard hairs, and she wasn't true black, but a silver black. Her ears were tipped with a splash of white, along with one of her front paws and her underbelly. She turned and sniffed the fresh air, taking in the scents of the forests which surrounded them, before turning around to look at Colin again.

Colin made no action to undress, instead watching her as she undressed, proving herself to be everything he thought she would be: Perfection. The way her raven mane tumbled down her back, her breasts full and ample. Then he snapped himself back to the situation, until the next full moon, which is but under a week away, they were not mates yet. He was here to make sure she came back in one piece. "You may have won the genetic lottery," He said, seconds before she shifted. "I will run beside you, since it is more convenient." He removed his shirt, swapping it out for a sports shirt which he had kept as a spare in the wardrobe.

He pulled the shirt on over his tanned body before gesturing for her to take the lead, "We also have a path which you can run on which leads deeper in, or you can do it the traditional way and just run wherever you want."

Celine watched him take off his shirt, and smiled within her mind at the man her father had chosen as her mate. At least he was nice to look at. She hoped he was as nice on the inside as he was on the outside, although she didn't think her father would ever choose anyone who he didn't approve of firstly.

His compliment warmed her, and she playfully slapped the ground in front of her as a thanks before whining at him and scratching at the trail. She led the way, stopping every so often to sniff, before continuing down it. It weaved through the forest, and soon enough her wolf urged her on, to test this male who was trying to be their mate. She started running, her smaller size making her quick and nimble as she matched his speed for a moment before surging ahead. She wanted to see if her mate could keep up, although she didn't run her full speed as that wouldn't be fair to the human for now. Maybe when they both ran as wolves, she would race him, and see if he could keep up. She wasn't the strongest of her pack, but she was one of the quickest in her pack. Surprisingly, she couldn't wait.

She was eager to begin, he could see that. He jogged after her, knowing she was giving him a chance to keep up. There was no real need for that however, since he found it easy to keep up with other wolves in his pack even when remaining in human form, since it was smaller and much more agile. He picked up his pace as he sped up, regulating his breath automatically, his broad chest rising and falling gently as he ensured a steady, yet controlled. He kept his footwork light, his boots barely making a sound on the dirt under them. He caught up to her, running beside her, the wind rippling through his hair. He kept track of where they were, as well as the direction they were facing relative to the lodge.

"You know you can run at your full speed right?" He said, "I should be able to keep up." He was an Alpha after all, and having a stronger physique was something all Alphas had.

Celine gave him a joyous look and she took off. Blurring like a streak, she ran, keeping her eyes focused ahead, now secure in the fact that he would be able to stay apace with her. She did keep an ear tuned to his breathing, so she would know if she started to pull away from him she would automatically slow down.

Maybe her father knew what he was doing when he chose Colin. Maybe she didn't have anything to worry about.

After running for a while, she eventually turned around, and raced back to the lodge, the same steady blurringly fast pace as before. She slowed as she reached the lodge, and trotted around some to stretch her muscles. She looked at Colin with a happy grin on her muzzle, and although she wasn't breathing hard, she could feel her heart beating fast.

He grinned, speeding up to match her pace as she began to run. He kept his breathing controlled, his breathing rhythmic as he followed her pacing. He had leaved over some fallen trunks on the way here, seeing that the wolf form is most suited for the forested areas. Eventually, she began to turn back, at which he pointed the way for her. He ran back up the path to the shifting area at the back of the lodge, arrive a few seconds after Celine did. He inhaled deeply, taking in long breaths to slow his breathing down once he slowed down.

"You went about half the distance to the mountain before turning back." Colin shrugged, drawing off the shirt, now soaked with his sweat and dropped it into the laundry basket. He took his shirt and slung it over his shoulder, eyeing her as he stepped around to get a hose, "Would your rather shift or stay like that to get your paws clean of the mud?"

Celine looked down, laughing as she realized that she had mud streaking up her body. If she shifted now, she would probably have mud everywhere, so she simply nodded and closed her eyes so when he turned on the water it wouldn't get in them. She hoped he had towels close by, because she wasn't too sure that the water that was going to come out of the hose was going to be warm.

In fact, she would bet that it was going to be ice cold, and she was going to be struggling with her wolf to get away from the stream rather than simply stand there and wash off. She braced herself and waited.

Colin turned the valve, hosing water over her while his fingers scrubbed her fur. Even as he worked, he noted that not all the dirt was coming off, due to being stuck in the fur. "You should shift back to get the mud off." It was also an excuse to see her in her human form again, something which he had the ability to appreciate. He still continued to wash her down, frowning at the spots of dirt which were harder to dislodge from her fur.

He followed after her when she struggled with herself to move away from the cold water, his hand resting firmly on her side to calm her down before returning to scrub her fur clean.

She twisted against him and narrowing her eyes at him nodded. After she waited for him to move away from her, she suddenly shook her fur, sending water flying everywhere. She laughed and shifted forms easily, from her wolf to her human form. She was still giggling at him as she inspected herself, noticing he was right in that she still had mud streaking her legs and arms, and some still against her breasts and stomach.

"Here, pass me the hose. Brr. It's freezing!" She smiled up at him, glad that they were getting along quite well. For once she felt comfortable with another alpha, and one that wasn't pack, at least not yet.

He raised a hand, water droplets splattering over his muscled flesh, feeling them steal the heat from his body. He held onto the hose, "I can see the dirt better than you do, Celine," he doused her with water, chuckling, "Don't try to tell me what to do," he closed the gap between them, "It doesn't work most of the time." He smiled, then splashed more water at her, starting with her arms, allowing her to scrub herself clean before moving to her breasts, allowing the water to flow down to rinse her front clean of the dirt. He stepped closer, a hand moving to her belly, seemingly to help wipe at a piece of insignificant dirt, while in truth he could not hold himself back any longer. His touch remained on her as he removed the last specks of dirt from her belly, moving down to her legs.

He pressed a finger against the hose, spraying it at her thighs and down her legs, the jets of water loosening the dirt easily. Once that was done, he went to grab a towel for her. The cupboard was empty, he frowned, surely he remembered filling this up the day before. He turned back to her and passed her his shirt, "You should get a hot shower, the ones which are unoccupied don't have them yet," He lied smoothly, "But I guess you can use mine instead."

She shivered as his hand landed on her belly, and this time it had nothing to do with the cold. She watched his hand, and smiled softly as he cleaned her gently. Once she was clean, she looked at him as he turned off the water. Now that it was off, and she wasn't under the stream of water, she was actually colder than before, since the wind bit against her wet skin easily.

She took the offered shirt, and then nodded, as he offered her a hot shower. She didn't even care that it was his shower, she just wanted to get warm again.
"We should probably let our fathers know that we're back, just so that they won't send out a search party if they wonder where we are." She suggested, as she reached into the cupboard to grab her clothing again. She followed him, shivering under his shirt, as it got damp from her skin.

Colin placed an arm around her waist, knowing the shirt was not going to do much to ward the cold off. He led her into the warmth of the house, his hand pushing her in before him before shutting the back door. He led her through the kitchen and up the steps. He ushered her into his room, shutting the door behind them. It was toasty warm inside since he was in this room several minutes ago. His room was partitioned into two parts, the sitting room where he would usually allow his guests to stay in. He led her to the second door, entering his bedroom and pushing her inside gently by the small of her back. "You should remove the shirt, since it has soaked up the water from your skin." He flicked the lights in the bathroom on, "Make yourself at home." He gestures to the bathroom, "I'll go notify our fathers, you should stay here and wash up." He turned sharply on his heel, walking back out the way his came with a final glance at her.

He made his way down to where their fathers were still having their discussion. He gave a brief notification before returning to his room, in need of a shower as well.

As he led her through the house, she leaned into his warmth, shivering slightly from the cold. He was burning hot to her cool skin, and she smiled as he offered her the bathroom and then headed back out to speak to their fathers. From everything she had seen, Colin was going to be a good mate and alpha.

Inside the bathroom, she took the shirt off, wringing it over the sink, before laying it over the towel rod so that it would dry a little. She slipped into the shower, took a couple seconds fiddling with the faucet trying to figure out how to turn it on then turn it to shower before sighing at the heat of the water. She usually took really hot showers, and now was no different. In no time at all, the bathroom was filled with thick steam, and she quickly washed herself, using the bar of soap he had. She took a deep sniff of it, smiling as she recognized the scent from Colin.

She finished quickly, and turned the water off, making sure she hadn't used all the hot water that they had at the cabin, wondering if they had a tank water heater, or one like her father did, which heated the water as they used it. As she stepped out of the shower, she grabbed a towel from the rod and wrapped it around her body, then grabbing another smaller towel to dry her hair as best she could. She glanced up as Colin walked in, and offered him a smile. It was funny, but the two of them were already acting like they were mates, which went a long way in comforting her that her father had made the right decision.

"That was fast." Colin said, picking up her fertile scent clearly with a trace of his own soap. "You'd normally expect the ladies to take a bit longer." He left the room and got himself another towel before undressing. He spared no time entered the bath stall, closing the half-frosted glass. He began showering immediately, his hands scrubbing his scalp. "Oh, our fathers are occupied for probably until dinner, we will probably have to entertain each other in the meantime." He closed his eyes, allowing the how water to strike his muscled back loosening the tension which had built up while running.

About a minute more of showering, he turned the faucet, shutting the water off, steam completely filling the bathroom as he stepped out to use the towel to dry himself before wrapping it modestly around his waist. He stepped out of the bathroom and made his way wardrobe, picking out a muscle shirt and a new pair of underwear. Over these he wore a robe before moving to sit on his bed, rolling his shoulders to further loosen his muscles.

"True, but I wasn't sure about how much hot water you guys had, and I didn't want to spend it all, in case you were going to take a shower." Celine said as she smiled at him. She watched him enter the bathroom, and then dressed herself in her clothes again. She was just pulling her hoodie over her head when he exited the bathroom, letting the steam drift over her as she smiled again at him. She pulled her hair out from under the sweater, and then looked around.

"Do you have a fireplace I can sit next to and dry my hair? We can get to know one another during that time..." She asked, turning back to look at him, a slight tilt to her head as she asked the question.

She wondered if this would be the cabin they would live in when they became a mated pair, or if they would have their own place. Either way, she hoped where ever they did live had a fireplace. She loved them, especially since her parents always had their family time in front of the fire.

"In the study." Colin pointed her outside where there was a fireplace. It was a pity to see her get dressed so soon, he would have wanted her to keep the fabric from tainting her skin. He got to his feet and went over to start up the fire. There was a trio of couches surrounding the fire place and a large shag rug before it. Once the flames were suitably lit, he lower the protective glass. He pulled his robe around himself as he felt heat seep into the room. He lowered the thermostat, not desiring his quarters turn into a sauna. He took a seat in the center-most couch, the largest of the two, which unlike the two, allowed room for two.

"So, what would you like to know about myself?" He asked, leaning back in his seat, his eyes watching her attentively.

She sat sideways on the couch, facing him as she pulled the wet mane of hair on her head over her shoulder so that the heat of the fire could start drying it. She wanted to sit closer to the flames, but for some inexplicable reason, she also wanted to sit close to Colin, so she had taken her place at his side on the couch.

"Hmm. I'm not sure... What were you like as a child?" She asked, her mind alighting on the first question that came to her. She smiled and tucked one of her legs under the other, fingers combing through her hair as she worked out the tangles within the dark mass. She tilted her head as she waited for his answer, leaning against the cushions of the couch.

Colin placed an arm over the backrest, thinking back as he stared into the flickering flames. "Hm, that is a very broad question. I heard I was quite a troublemaker, plenty of fights. Of which I hardly remembered losing. But those are nothing to boast about. I eventually must have realized the whole picking fights thing was not as much of a challenge as having a brain to control the brawn which I had demonstrated. So I studied, this also made it more likely that I was to be selected as the next Alpha, since we need brains for an Alpha, not just brawn." He turned back to face her, "What people are as a child rarely defines who they are in the future, you know?" He raised an eyebrow.

"So, tell me a bit about yourself. Whatever you find most memorable of your past, your interests, anything I can have to find out more about you." His arm moved, a finger brushing against her damp hair.
