Nobody was quite sure why they had chosen now to reveal themselves, though there were rumours circulating all over the world, ranging from humans having destroyed their natural habitats, to the Nekos actually being aliens who had secretly come to Earth. Whatever the reasons, the Nekos were rather quiet about it, at least publically anyway. After much negotiation, many world governments had accepted the Neko race into their population, the new race quickly integrating into everyday life alongside humanity. Of course one of the ways which they integrated was that Neko students began to attend the same schools as human students, something which often brought excitement amongst the human students.
Lance attended one such school, where 5 new Neko students had recently started. Slightly unusually all of them had been male, which annoyed many of the male students who had been hoping for a sexy Neko girl or two after they'd heard all the rumours about Neko girls going into heat and needing 'help' to relieve the symptoms. Lance though didn't mind at all, and when he had been assigned to help the new Nekos to integrate into human life he had been only too happy to do it, helping them settle in to life at a human school, but also helping them to settle into regular human life. He liked to think he would do a good job, but it was still early days.
"Hey guys" Lance smiled brightly as he walked into the room where the Neko students were due to wait for him. He had to make sure he did everything he could to make them comfortable, make sure they felt welcome. There had been the occasional instance of humans objecting to the presence of Nekos, but he couldn't let that happen here. "I'm Lance, I'll be here to help all of you with anything you might need. If you have any questions, anything at all, please feel free to just ask"
