In a peaceful world known for hosting strange creatures, called Pokemon, in which people have bonded with these creatures as friends. Though there are some who abuse and manipulate their pokemon not caring whether they live or die. People bond with pokemon and engage in battle as one. Using strategy to win over their opponent. But what good is strategy when the bond between pokemon and man are too great. The world of pokemon is known to be a clean, beautiful world, where it is easier to accept one another’s way of living. A world where people would travel to follow their dreams no matter the limits.
Though the world Kari lived in wasn’t like that at all. Built and aged in corruption, the people of Lyra have been held down by harsh laws, that make life nothing how it used be known for. Pokemon are no longer seen as friends or partners, but rather weapon themselves. The people of Lyra aren’t to own pokemon except first stage evolutions, though they are weak and not meant for battle. The government made it law that pokemon hold stones, preventing them from evolving. During this time, many pokemon have become extinct by the governments cruel acts. There are rumors that have been spread that the government corrals and kills or does cruel experiments on such pokemon. These experiments are done in large factories which produce mass amounts of pollution. Overtime the pollution started to alter and change the form of pokemon, making them change into a more anthropomorphic form.
Kari’s family was poor, and lived in the more polluted part of Opis, his hometown, although it didn’t feel like home. It’s close proximity to the industrial trinity results in notably poor air quality, but not nearly as badly as it could be. It’s small, but is well known for having well performing schools and being slightly lax on regulation than other parts of Lyra. It is a brownish landscape and the very picture of depression.
Kari was a seventeen year old boy, his parents had told him to run down to the market to sell some of the producd from his father's farm. As he was walking down the street he could hear the locals talking about the same thing. "Did you hear abiut he revolution?" or "It looks like ralts have become extinct." It was all the same really. Rumors were all they were. Of course there was the news, yet the government had prevented anything negative. He struggled to tune them out. Just as Kari was about to reach the market,he noticed the sound of yelling. He followed the sound which led him to the town square, where people were gathering closer together. He tried to sqeeze through the crowd of people, though they wouldn't let him through. He looked around before finding a tree relatively close to the action. Kari climbed the tree to a relatively high point to see what was happening. Everyone was quiet, besides the man in the middle of the square making all the commotion.
"Why do you continue to bath in your own filth? You sit and you live by the ridiculous laws." The man was middle aged and he had a Caterpie siting on his shoulder. Though he was making quite some of the people would continue to stare at him, majority continued to walk. "Pokemon are meant to be an extention of ourselfs. How can you stand there and let this happen?" Kari knew this wasn't going to end well. It was only a matter of time before..."Excuse me! Your under arrest! For violation of peace. And the construction of protest." A police officer ordered the people to break up and return to their homes. "This city is now under lockdown." All the people start to get angry, but not at authority. "You've pushed us around for too long! I won't let it stand any longer!" The police officer laughed. "Your caterpie looking quite small, I don't think you have been feeding it enough." The man stepped down from the bench in which he had been standing on laughed as well. "Call this small! Go! Tyrantrum!" He yelled throwing out a pokeball that released an altered form of a large dinosuar like creature. Many of the people start scurring off, making more than enough room for the battle that was soon to start. "How the hell?" Kari could hear the policeman mutter under his breath. "That's right. No buissness of yours how I got it."
It wasnt long before back up had arrived. The policeman grabbed a pokeball of his own, throwing it to release a large Steelix. Kari could see it was wearing a dark red brace around its neck. Kari became angry as he could sense it was in pain. "Show you to step out of line you no good rebel scum." He reached in his pocket, grabbing a remote. In an instant Steelix roared and shined as his eyes illuminated a red light, forcing it to mega evolve. The officer took no time in letting the man make his move. "Steelix, Iron tail." As it roared in pain, it slung its tail straight into in Tyrantrum's side, sending it flying in the air and smashing into a nearby building. Kari knew that it would do a lot more than making it faint.
With that it was over. The man was taken off already being beaten down and his Tyrantrum caught and taken into custody. Kari shedded a tear at the sad sight of the people continuing their lives as nothing happened. He worked his way down the tree to finish running his errand and continued his way home. Though on his way he could hear the faint sound of whining as walking over a bridge. He couldn't help but stop, givin his curious nature, to find it's source. Shocked to find a lost eevee. Adorable in it's anthro form. It's unnusual color adding to it's beauty.
